yea, that's their intentions so you don't realize how much these 2 shows suck now between the throbbing in your head! LOL...
show..naysayers are pure entertainment especially the ones that feel the need to correct every post...just check out any Beatles thread...LOL.
amc and the production company/companies involved are having difficulty keeping happy/paying all the stars. Morgan went to FTWD to try to boost the audience. and FTWD knew they couldn't pay both Frank Dillane and Kim Dickens what they would want when their contracts were up. Frank went looking for better gigs and they wrote Kim out. adding Garrett Dillahunt, Maggie Grace, and Jenna Elfman is actually probably saving them money. then both Lauren Cohan and Andrew Lincoln decided they were "ready to move on"/ask for raises. Lauren already has a new show and Andrew wants to go back to UK (I'm guessing for different series/films). now they need Morgan to move back over to TWD when it returns to replace some of the star power leaving. big question now is who will go with him. i'm guessing it will be one or two new characters we have not met yet. TWD has always been the big dog in this universe and gets to eat first.
I thought the first half of this season was really good. Only thing is, it was wasted as the first half of this season. I think would have made for an amazing *final* season of the show - in that context, the flashbacks would have had more narrative heft, because the "now" timeline would be the end, and the missed parts of the narrative would feel more necessary, as they would fill in the gaps of the jumped time and would be vital towards building to the "now;" "now" being the conclusion of these characters' stories. The taped interviews - fine enough though they were in the context that they existed - would have been a really good device to get even more creative and allow each character's perspective on the events of the show to be exhibited. But "now" ended up not being the end. The structure of the first half of the season was just an experiment. Still a successful one, IMO, but just that. It wasn't the final sendoff for the show, just the sendoff for 2 of the major characters. And the over-arching plot of this second half is going to be going back to Virginia? Wow - talk about deus ex machina. Why would the survivors leave the safety and comforts of their new home for an incredibly long and arduous trek to Virginia??? Especially Morgan - nutjob that he has become notwithstanding - who knows very well the dangers that lurk out there? Well, we know why that will probably happen - the home where they are now is going to get destroyed or infested one way or another and then they'll have a legitimate reason to move - but I can't think of any reason why this would have been even a germ of an idea absent that degree of their hand being forced. But, with Rick gone in Alexandria, merging the two shows became an eventuality and it looks like they're headed down that road sooner rather than later. Or at least bringing Morgan and some other characters back to TWD, which will be in need of a few familiar faces with Rick leaving in the fall. Neither of the WD's have ever been great about giving the audience a good "why" for things, and this episode was practically as notable an example of it as any.
And this is the biggest problem with people getting attached (me included), facts are that the show may have been served better by killing off characters sooner and leave us with memories of greatness like the Governer that everyone romances about. However, as it stands, I personally think they have been quite clever with a few things and don't hate on it like some viewers. It is difficult to keep attention of viewers when hitting close to 10 seasons. I am still intrigued and now that you have wrote this up, I am sure it is an actor/actress juggling nightmare!
That is interesting because some critics liked it. For me it was one of those "thinking" episodes which for once only had small amount of dialogue. I appreciated them addressing the sorrow. It is hard to kill kids and Alicia isn't that far from it herself. Each to their own, but I think the shows needs stuff like that to ground it. On the flip side..Alicia is an annoying contradiction.
That little girl was your favorite? Yeah, I gotta admit I started to like her. Hard to see things in black and white in that world!
LOL...my 1 least favorite...can't stand the little murderer... horrible, horribly boring and so far fetched it was laughable... and thankfully only 46+ minutes of show...
nothing will make me like that little creature...she F'n killed the brother, invaded, lied, used the family which in turn killed the Mom and all the rest at the stadium...nice little girl...a F'n SNAKE...after this episode I started to loathe her even more! LOL...she sure didn't want to die...Hmmm...
of course they would...think about it. : ) probably why I disliked it so much...the critics did not pan it! LOL
Not saying the critics should dictate how the individuals should feel...just surprised that some bloggers that hate the show...liked the episode. Many if them call episodes like this boring. As for the girl, didn't Nick kill someone that was close to her? Look at it from survival on their side. Lord knows Nick has done his share. And Madison killed herself to save others because of a series of unfortunate events. I take all sides dping the same stuff and wrong or murder is relative. The girl was saving/avenging her friend the same as her deception was aiding her group. Alicia didn't kill her because she is a little girl that can't really be held accountable for her mallible mind and actions....especially in that world. Now the crazy little girl on Walking Dead...yup she is wacko. No saving her.
Of course. But you remembered her friend getting murdered right? I personally never had a high opinion of Nick. Scratch that...I meant I didn't always have a high opinion of Nick. I see her like him in the beginning in lots of ways. But again I can see disliking her. When she cried though I was like Alicia...you don't kill kids. Trust that I am not putting down your opinion just picking you mindset. We usually agree so the few times we don't is where it gets interesting for me.
Series IDK, but I did enjoy it...even if it was weird. Though Alicia is annoying and was always not making a whole lotta sense to me.
OK, lets break this down...little girl playing an innocent lies her way into an established compound...she deceives them in the worst way then brings dangerous enemies to the compound to throw them out and take over or they will KILL THEM ALL...after all is said and done they run into the little innocent murdering girl and she kills "the brother of Alicia and son of Madison, and boyfriend of.... In the real world no, actually in their world the little innocent murdering girl would have been removed from the planet...at the first opportunity...BUT the writers chose to go the safest way by making the little innocent murdering girl Alicia's new dear loving cutesy best friend...Ain't that special and endearing and so NOW...yea right...HYSTERICAL...what would you do if it was your Brother or Son or Boyfriend?
The little girl was doing what she was instructed to do based upon what she thought was the greater good for her group. Whether the group would kill them all or not...well that didn't happen did it? Matter of fact, they could have done more than just wait it out...but that is what they did. Without going over the show because you saw it too, the group or the girl cannot be blamed for killing mom..mom killed herself. As for Nick, lest we forget, and you haven't mentioned it once, he did kill someone she cared about because why...because he blamed the death of his mom on him, when again mom killed herself. A series of unfortunate events is not the same as putting a bullet straight to someone's head. In the little girl's world, this was someone close to her, and also the act of deceiving in her eyes is to keep people from going hungry. So no I am not endorsing that she is just a "murderer"...anymore than other characters that kill for understandable survival. It always baffled me how so many call Neagan the out and out villian while Rick killed quite a few of his people...matter of fact QUITE A FEW more. Sure the bat incident wasn't fun, but if we look at the big picture of Rick and Neagan alone and ignore the rest, Rick did so much, I think a few people getting smashed up was getting off easy. ...I digress. Now as for Alicia and her, I don't see any cutesy best friend. Lest we forget, Alicia came very close to killing the girl a couple of times. In the real world, women actually fall in love with people that kill their husbands (see war situations throughout history) so the stretch of the maternal instinct is not such a stretch at all. Regardless, of how Alicia feels right now, I see no "best friend", but I do see two people merely trying to survive. Alicia is smart enough to figure that out for the time being anyway. Like Alicia, it is hard to put the act of a child in the same category as the act of an adult. Brother, Father, Girlfriend, Wife...yes I would likely come close to pulling a trigger, but until I am in that situation, you never ever know. Also you are taking for granted what a sister feels for a brother. Many times over Alicia has felt disgusted with Nick's actions and the separation was obvious. Do I understand how she feels at all...nope, and neither does she. This is new territory for her, and deep down inside she has to remember that Nick was very reckless with a lot of people's lives through the years, and she is also smart enough to see the other state of the glass half full of water. The thing I like about this show is that you can expect the unexpected. It would not surprise me at all if Alicia still killed the kid later (and it wouldn't surprise me if she didn't), but the facts are that in their situation, in their moment, now is not the time. Now on the flip side, we also seem to be ignoring the PTSD the kid (Charlie..finally looked up her name) is going through since losing her parents. Would you simply take out a child because they were not actually right in the head? Alicia could see it, and so could I. I believe in redemption and yes even something as terrible as what she has done...well Alicia has killed some people to and when it comes to family...sooner or later you have killed other people's family in one way or another. Anyway, each to his own. I can see your rage and understand you feeling as you do. Perhaps Alicia is faking it, and a bullet is going to come to Charlie's head eventually. I am sure there are some that will take great glee in this happening. From what I have seen, I don't see a whole lot of evil with this girl especially when you consider that she had a gun and could easily have killed Alicia a few times over. Alicia isn't the same kind of killer that the rest of the group is, and when it comes to certain things like wacking little girls, I think out of all the people, she isn't the first to do it. That was the point of the episode and also the fact that there seems to be some kind of innocence/humanity that has been with her throughout the entire series. Redemption seems to be the theme of the whole Walking Dead universe and when it comes to the end of the world, I don't know how anyone could claim some profound rules. That is what I meant about it not being black and white. I love Alicia's acting and there was so much there, just like with Charlie. I don't know how, but I actually believed her... ...again each to his own. Thanks for explaining more. I like discussing, and the world would be freakin' boring if it was just throw opinions around and everybody just sits back and admires with no possibility of learning from each other. p.s. I took Charlie to be pretty suicidal. In some ways I think that is what makes Alicia reluctant. This is something that perplexes her and brings out something she has never felt before. Maybe you considered it bad writing, but in many ways I was surprised that I actually felt something for that girl. I think in the end, she is probably going to kill herself, or let herself be killed. I cannot hate someone that is obviously feeling that much pain. The little pictures being lined up gave that girl more depth. A depth that was playing out in her acting for many episodes.
if the little murdering girl did not lie and deceive the group so perfectly calculated...(come on she played them incredibly)...proving she was a POS...then I may lean towards the understanding...but, she's far from an innocent. The reason why she didn't kill Alicia is she needed her as Alicia didn't kill her and she knew she had her FOOLED again...she's great at manipulation...
I have defintely studied on what you are saying. And she does have some mental issues. It can go either way. Her losing parents and hurting others is a symptom of someone that wants to dish punishment for what has been done. She is like Carl's little girlfriend part 2. Like I said, a long suicide. More character development might help...might get worse. I am intrigued. Btw, I don't think she cared enough to fool Alicia. If Charlie did...she would have shot her. I think her trusting someone else like that Ennis dude...and then getting killed made her even more wacky. Killing Nick may not have been on purpose but more rage for losing another person she did care about. The look on her face when she did it, did not look happy. Ok I am done now. Great debating with ya. I feel your side, I really do.
I no longer care for the show, but my wife loves it...I love the time spent watching it with her...: ) LOVE....LOL.
Aww a shame. But yes...my wife forced me too. I have since become more like her. Lol (See edit above)
