Fiber stuck on stylus

I use Magic Eraser, very gently up and down motion, never letting the cart fall quickly to avoid damaging the suspension. For normal cleaning use a soft stylus brush.
I use liquid cleaner maybe once every couple months.......

 

sometimes fibers become "welded" to the stylus. use some liquid cleaner made for the job- works instantly.
i personally use this one and have never had any kind of negative issue from its use.

I use that as well. Works great. Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab LP-9 Stylus Cleaner (0.5 Oz)

 

Found a carbon fiber stylus brush I had tucked away. Pulled a gob of dust off and the fiber looks to be gone. Need to address the static issue also. Any non alcohol liquid stylus cleaners that are safe and cheaper than last?

My needle picks up a lot of stuff from new LPs, I brush them before I play them but I pick up what looks like small white thread like strings. What are those?
The Beatles Mono Box set had a lot of stuff on them, I had to clean the needle after every side the first time I played them. Sound great though.
