FiiO K5 Headphone Amp

I was thinking of getting a Fiio K5 and Sennheiser HD598 headphones. My receiver doesn't have a audio out. Could I put a switch box on my turntable and run it to the line in? Would this combo give me better sound than my Sony STR-DH770 headphone jack and ATH-50x?

 

If your turntable doesn't have built in phono pre-amp you need one before you feed the signal to Fiio K5.

HD598s are open headphones and sound very different than closed ATH-M50x. It's down to personal preference which one you like more.

I have Fiio E10k and HD598s and I think they sound fabulous together.

 

Thanks I was looking for a more neutral sounding with more clarity headphone, would the HD598 be a upgrade to the M50x?
