In 1968, when I was 10, my day took my brother and I to see a film called The Impossible Years. We loved it. It was all about teenagers in Calif. in the late 60's. My fave part then was seeing David Niven's neighbor's son destroy (with a baseball bat) each new car his father brought home. The son's psychiatrist said to "leave the kid alone." The movie scenes with the car stuff are very funny and not violent at all.

Anyway, I finally found the film on VHS and all the car stuff is edited out. There's only one reference to the son's activities when his father is talking to David Niven at a pool party.

Anyway, I am curious as to why these scenes were edited out. Does anyone remember this film?

I also remember that the line in the 1982 film, My Favorite Year, about Fords looking like Chryslers looking like Buicks etc. was ALSO edited out when I saw the film on TV on several occassions.

    Help!
