You're right. My wife thinks I'm crazy ;)

I placed some diffusion on the rear wall, so I think using absorption might make more sense. Anyway, putting some plants there seems a great idea. Thanks ;)

Thanks. I was afraid of putting too much absorption so I expressed my concern to the acoustic engineer at GIK acoustics who is helping me treating my room and he told me this:

I think I'll buy some more panels for the ceiling and see what happens. Then I'll buy more bass traps for the corners and I think that'll be enough, but until I don't listen to the results, I won't know for sure.

Re: listening position, I don't mind aesthetics, but I thought I should sit the farthest away as possible from the back wall. My speakers are at a distance of 1:54 metres and when I listen to music, my head is at 1:60 metres approximately.

This is embarrassing, but I'm a bit confused. I got the two panels for the ceiling but I'm not sure about the right position. Each panel measures 600 mm wide x 1200 mm long. Do I mount them one after another (1200 mm long + 1200 mm long = 2400 mm) or else this way (600 mm wide + 600 mm wide = 1200 mm)? Sorry if I don't make myself clear. My English is not very good when dealing with technical stuff.

    Thanks

I am not an expert, but I would think you want your panels at the first point of reflection.

    Thanks :)

I have doubts about how to mount the two panels on the ceiling: lenghtwise or across?

Either way, because in theory :

    • the ceiling/the upper portion of the walls in rooms with high ceilings :
Everything head-level or below should be absorption to kill initial reflections.

So go crazy and cover all of the roof if budget allows coño !!:righton:

Thanks :tiphat: I still need two (or three) panels on the wall behind the speakers, a couple more on the ceiling and bass traps in the corners, but these panels are really expensive and I can't buy them all at once :sweating:

I wouldn't mind trying this in my room but I have doors the would prohibit this arrangement.

Normally I'd suggest just trying it on a slow weekend, but I've seen your speakers. Quite a bit to move around.

The sound stage depth in my room now is really something though. I've had a few visitors and always get a "wow" from them.

Not only the speakers but the Amps which way as much as the speakers. It would take me 8-10 hours to move everything.

I need more panels for the other corners, but I'll have to wait a few months. Anyway, the sound is way better now :)

Have you tried the speakers closer to the front wall. Don't know the dimensions of your room, but they look about halfway into the room. That's going to put them close to being on a big fat bass null

Thanks :) I used Cardas speaker placement and like the sound. Truth is I haven't tried other positions, but I will ;)
