Loved the documentary. I'm kind of stunned he finished this; more than stunned actually.

    Well...with Amazon money behind him....
I assume SOMEONE there loves him enough to sign-on to it...
Hope it's better than his past three films!

I really liked Zero Theorem. As for the other two in his last three, I've never even heard of The Wholly Family or The Legend of Hallowdega.

Lost In La Mancha (the documentary on the failed attempts to make The Man Who Killed Don Quixote) was very entertaining to watch, though brutal to have to work though I'm sure.

Since that was released 15 years ago, it means that it was made "only" 2 years after production of the real movie began. There must be a lot more to add to the "making of" story then!

Somehow he manages to get funding, after the disaster of Brazil (I'm referring to the production, not the film) he managed to get an enormous amount of money to do the Baron Munchausen film.

Gosh, wasn't this mentioned in the book of revelations as one of the signs of apocalypse (along with a yellow-haired prince of the west and new remix of Sgt. Pepper's)?

Yes, mentioned just after MoFi's remastering of the early digital Nightfly in Revelations 21:8.

The strangest thing is that I actually thought of this today and now I'm reading this I'm blown away. I wonder why this movie would have even crossed my mind.

I really like it, as well. It was almost unbelievable how many things went wrong, in only a matter of a few days!

Since he apparently recast both lead roles, I'm curious if any of the original footage will in fact be used, or if he basically just started the whole thing over from scratch.

Yes, an updated 'making-of' is called for.

I am making sure it isn't April Fools somewhere in the universe, or a parallel universe for that matter.

    Here's a more reputable link.

Terry Gilliam suffers stroke ahead of Don Quixote's Cannes premiere

The first link's title is pure sensationalism as it insinuates the stroke and Amazon pulling it from Cannes somehow being related when the two are not in any way.

"Former producer Paulo Branco launched a legal challenge on 25 April to stop the screening and its French cinema release, claiming that his company Alfama Films owns the rights. On 8 May, Amazon Studios pulled out of US distribution, despite contributing significant funding."

Hopefully, TG will come out of this without any permanent damage so he can finally enjoy the fruits of his labor... assuming this latest development won't result in many years of legal ramifications.
