I think I have a bad tube socket - it's in V5.....(Voltage amplifier and phase inverter). Tube is good as I have swapped it with another. I first heard some static, mostlywith bass notes. When I wiggle it it does cut in and out. I have read of folks perhaps tightening them.....or replacing them all together. Is there anything with fatter pins, like a converter type thing, that I can add to it? Or am I stuck trying to retension them? A little worried about messing with it too much.

where to start with fixing it? I would presume that since it cuts in and out when wiggling it wouldn't be a solder thing, as I am not touching the joints.

Any insight from the folks here would be great.

Could be a 100 different things. Best to turn off the amp and come back a few hours later to clean the tube pins with some contact cleaner and spray down into the tube socket as well. Re-insert the tube and remove a few times to wipe the contacts clean and see if that helps.
