Thanks for taking the time to come back to me, unfortunately I've tried to get a hold of Love Oh Love on CD but it's a bit out of my price range at the moment.

I'll have a look for the other ones today, especially The Impressions album, I'm betting that's a great album. The Anthology is on my Christmas list.

This weekend I have discovered the band Frumpy, and have fallen in love (or more accurately, lust) with vocalist Inga Rumpf's voice. Although not technically of the genre, I have a feeling this band might serve as my doorway (finally) into Krautrock.*

Here they are on Beat Club if you've got ten minutes to spare:

I'm counting their three studio albums as one, for today's list.

Frumpy - All Will Be Changed/Frumpy 2/By The Way

Otherwise, this week I have been mostly hearing:
Pentangle - The Pentangle (box set version)
Trees - On The Shore (deluxe edition)
    Catapilla - Catapilla
XTC - Black Sea (box on a blu-ray)

So aside from XTC, a lady singer-shaped pattern has emerged (although they're all very 'similar but different' to each other of course)...
I was quite disappointed that Catapilla's um, distinctive vocalist Ann Meek only seems to have featured on their two early seventies albums, and nothing else.

    Catapilla Promises 1971

    * Krautrock. I hate that term.

I've been listening to the Virginia Wing Measures of Joy record over and over lately, at least 5 times, repeat, repeat, flip, repeat, repeat, flip, ... so guess that would be my pick right now. Great record, not quite as adventurous as their next one from last year, which was one of my big favorites, Forward Constant Motion, but a totally infectious kosmische groove running throughout, love it!

Well this week has been pretty much dedicated to listening to the Allan Holdsworth "The Man Who Changed Guitar Forever" boxset. Words just can't adequately express how good this set is. Simply breathtaking!!!
