Its arrived, drat and damn, no time to open and review. Will have to wait til this evening or weekend. Amazon haven't gone big on packaging, clearly the same size box as the Rumours set. Will have to wait

 

The LOSSY-only Extended Play EP, I mean.

 

Just listening to that now for the first time. I'm no fan of Dolby Digital (would rather DTS or Dolby MA) but I've got to say that the mix does seem very pleasing to my ears, making it sounds as if the vocalists are in the room with me. I'm not familiar with the original album so treat my comments with proper scepticism but I'm honestly impressed by the sound quality. Fleetwood Mac haven't seemed to get much adulation around here for their deluxe reissue programme but it always seems to deliver quality at a very reasonable price point.

 

Thanks for the report! I'm no fan of DD either, but I think it's the mix that counts. If it sounds good, that's all that matters. imo

Almost the same dynamic range as the 2004 expanded edition. The original has much more dynamic range.

It's a measure of dynamic range (i.e. the difference between the loudest and the quietest parts). The disc w/ the album is not good, but not horrible. The 2 live discs look very good.

 

Just got my copy today. Very compact packaging with a thin book. Excellent photographs and I look forward to listening to the lp. I played disc 1 so far and it follows the same pattern of many other reissue cds. (too loud)

 

Oh man, I just played that on Spotify. So good. Loving the version of World Turning with the piano and keys on it also.

I have a great sounding original vinyl press and the remastered CD with the single versions so I don't need this. But now I want. I guess I could trade in my CD to pick up the double CD.

 

I really like the sound of the 2011 hi-rez (96/24) release. I ended up cancelling my order for this. I wish I could buy a CD set of just discs 2 & 3.

 

I cancelled mine from AmazonUK Even though it was only $55 shipped, I liked the $30 price from HDTracks better and all I wanted was disks 2-3 and I have no interest in 5.1 or vinyl.

I bought the 2-CD set, and on Amazon's listing, it's not listed as an AutoRip. Nor has it shown up in my account. I received the live stuff from Mirage via AutoRip when I ordered that 2-CD set, and I was also hoping the same thing would happen with this one. Maybe at some point in the future, but not right now.

 

Appreciate that reply. It was good while it lasted for Mirage, Tusk & Rumours(there was no live content for Tango IIRC).

Some pictures of the set : the cds and dvd are included in the gatefold that also holds the lp.
The boxset is a slipcase, it holds the gatefold sleeve and the booklet.

All is pretty tight.

I'm worried about damaging the booklet, the box is such a tight fit. May end up storing it separately. No way of keeping it in a good condition if you're regularly accessing the gatefold to choose a disc to listen.
