I would love to hear a Hoffmanized issue of Gilded Palace of Sin. Are the first-gen tapes out there and in decent shape? (I seem to remember reading a review of A&M's Hot Burritos anthology which said that some of the original masters were damaged or missing, but I might be mistaken.)

Rhino just re-released the first two albums plus a good chunk of subsequent Burrito material on their "Hot Burritos" Anthology around 2 years ago. Although it would be nice to hear Gilded Palace of Sin with the Hoffman touch (the split stereo vocals are fun for close harmony fans), I think the two GP solo albums are more ripe for a re-visitation. If Steve were let loose on twofers of both GPoS/Burrito Deluxe and GP/Greivous Angel, I would be one happy camper.

In the meantime, I can always listen to my Razor & Tie Best of the Louvin Brothers for my Hoffman close country harmony needs. :)

    Regards,
