As far as clearity of words in a song,this classic group gets it right every time,don't believe me,listen to several groups including The Platters and get back to me!

I think the vocal styles of both Dionne Warwick and Karen Carpenter are distinct and precise.

They masterfully enunciated the lyrics, in crystal clear tones, yet allowing enough play so their vocals supported and emphasized key elements of the song's melody. That's why so many of their versions of Burt Bacharach/Hal David tunes sound so effortless and flow so well.
