About 1100 sqft. Listening room is 9x13. My wife is good with this, and gives me no grief whatsoever.

They were napping when those photos were taken. But those black-and-white curtains in the 2nd photo are cats (from Ikea).

However, over time, I will be converting a portion of the basement into my listening space. 825 sq. foot room.

You can put insulation between the joists, which will restore some of the upper bass/lower midrange suckout that occurs. It will also, since the insulation is soft, prevent sound from "bouncing" between the ceiling and floor. I found it to be extremely eye-opening, the difference it made. I used RR-13 and put the "facing" against the ceiling.

Right about there I'd be installing some good insulation followed with mass loaded vinyl sandwiched between the plywood with layers of sound absorbing foam, acoustic cotton batting then two layers of drywall.:D
Best time to do it now.
