60's influenced 80's new wave, the Expressos had a brief glimpse on the charts with this classic. The LP is a gem (Note, the song starts about 25 seconds in):

I see that I've got a lot of likes for this post. Well, I guess that I should point out that I looked them up after I posted that and it turns out that they reformed quite some time ago. I just bought their newest album, A BIG BAD BEAUTIFUL NOISE.... and it is AWESOME!!!!

Very varied sound, many tracks reminescent of their old catalog, but here is the title track and quite the rocker:

Here's one for your consideration ... Russ Ballard "Voices." It only hit #110 on the Hot 100 (Bubbling Under). However, it got to #15 on Mainstream Rock Tracks in 1984. I never, ever hear it now.

Sigue Sigue Sputnik - She's My Man, the Youtube version doesn't do it justice but it sounds great cranked up on a good system!

One of my favorites from Lowlife, only after San Antorium.
The LTM cd is awful. Horrifically tinny and thin.
    Sounds nothing like the vinyl.
I listen to a needle drop - an mp3 needledrop - and even that's better than the cd.

That is awesome! I have never seen that before, thanks for posting. When I heard the album recently, one of the songs was driving me crazy because I couldn’t place where I knew the beat from? Then it hit me, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off!

I love so many songs on this list that I'm going to seek out all the ones I don't recognize.

Here's my fav (amongst many) on your list.

Have we had any John Foxx? He had a bit of minor chart success in the UK in the early 80s. "Europe After The Rain" here hit the heady heights of #40 in 1981.

I saw Novo Combo mentioned earlier. I searched the thread and didn't see this one listed (apologies if it was):
