Has anyone heard any of the new Light in the Attic reissues of Francoise Hardy's first five albums? Three of them are available now on CD with the other two coming soon, and they'll all be available on vinyl soon, too. According to the Light in the Attic site, they're using the original mono mixes and feature new interviews with her:

Mostly, I'm wondering about sound quality. There have been some dodgy FH reissues recently.

    Thanks!

Light in the Attic generally does top notch work. I'll definitely be picking up the vinyl albums.

  3. Was just gonna post a thread asking. I'll be getting the CDs. Hopefully they're good. I'm really happy with the decision for mono. Nous Tous in stereo is hard panned and distracting.

Of her first five albums, L'Amitie is my favorite.

  12. Don't have mine yet, so I can't say but the LITA versions are in mono so I'm in. I'm not aware of the mono versions on CD elsewhere.

I had two different remasters in my hand at the record store last week

Tous Les Garçons Et Les Filles

    A german pressing. 2112
A Light in the Attic with bonus tracks

    Chose the German
Haven't opened it yet to clean

How are the quality of these extra tracks? My preference would be to get the LITA reissues, but if the bonus material is compelling enough I may go for La Collection.

Oh, and FYI: LITA has a special on their website where you can get all five Francoise Hardy cds bundled for $50. (Normally $12 each.)

I will probably get these but I am unsure if I will get the CDs or the vinyl at this point. I'd also like to see some of her early 70s material reissued, such as the La Question album.

the extra tracks included all the songs released as 4track EPs during vogue era. Many of them are on the 2CD vogue years. the sound was remastered: some people like it some don't. it sounds very crispy / clear

I ordered the 5CD bundle on lighttheattic website, pending arrival.

Is anyone aware of whether the LP bundle comes with download codes? LITA often does this, but I didn't see any mention on the site.

I'm interested in sampling one of her albums.

What should I start with? Are these reissue the way to go?

Tous Les Garcons Et Les Filles or L'Amitie would be my suggested starting points, but if you like this style of music, you can't really go wrong with any of them. As for the LITA reissues, I don't have any yet, but they generally do quality work at a very reasonable price.

  22. She has different eras. You should maybe get 3 different albums to compare. Personally I think she's an "entire catalog" type of artist. Very few weak albums in her whole career.

    Thanks for the help.

I'll most likely pickup either of her first couple of albums. I'm not sure how much I need to get started.

I sampled a few songs and enjoyEd the early material.
