I can't speak French, I am Scottish like you but I am now addicted to that Yianna song haha.

 

I spent 6 months in Paris in 1993 and the Les Rita Mitsouko video was all over French music television. In fact it's one of the main things that I remember from my stay. Anyway you've helped support my theory that we Scots are more open to French music than our English neighbours. Then again they've produced so much great music themselves maybe they don't need to look elsewhere.
