That would be good but Popmarket were only useful for the first 6 months and then started charging giant for delivery to us so no one even thinks of them here now.

Great show. Quite a few of those songs are new to me, including the cuts by Al Wilson and United 8. This was also my first time hearing the original "Seven Days Too Long" that Dexy's Midnight Runners covered on their first album.

Thanks man! I usually only get two or three live listeners per broadcast, so it's always nice to know someone went back and checked it out.

Why is that first Pool & The Gang album so expensive on CD?

This could be good (due up May 26, 2017):

Junie "The Complete Westbound Recordings 1975-76" 2CD set (Westbound UK)

The complete solo Westbound recordings of Junie Morrison, including the albums “When We Do”, “Freeze” and “Suzie Super Groupie”, plus a previously unissued track and others exclusive to singles.

Junie was a key architect of the Ohio Players’ funk sound in the early 70s, and as a member of Funkadelic later that decade wrote their R&B #1’s ‘One Nation Under A Groove’ and ‘(Not Just) Knee Deep’. As writer of ‘Funky Worm’ he was crucial to the sound of G-Funk pioneered by Dr Dre.

Last year he experienced a commercial rebirth, with ‘Suzie Thundertussy’ sampled by Kanye West, and Solange Knowles writing the song ‘Junie’ for him. He also worked with LA producer Dam Funk.

This 2CD set contains the best of his solo work. The Kanye West sample is included, alongside tracks sampled by DJ Shadow, J Dilla, Madlib and others. The music ranges from the pure funk of ‘Granny’s Funky Rolls Royce’ to the orchestral soul of ‘Tight Rope’ and ‘If You Love Him’, all in fully remastered sound.

Booklet features an in-depth note and full discography. A fitting tribute to a musical great, who died in January this year.

When talking about funk a lot of people seem to forget Herbie Hancock maybe because he's seen as a jazz pianist but in the 70s the guy could play some mean funk that was as good as anything done by Sly, Parliament/Funkadelic, Meters etc in my opinion.

Most would call Curtis Mayfield R&B or Soul, but damn if this isn't the funkiest track.

    "Billy Jack"

And let's not forget about Superfly!!!
