With the exception of Red Hot Rhythm 'n' Blues (at this point), FTG announced on Facebook today they will be reissuing Why Do Fools Fall in Love, Silk Electric, Ross ('83), Swept Away and Eaten Alive later this year.

Why Do Fools Fall in Love is scheduled to include eight bonus tracks but there is not much more information about these reissues.

Thanks for the post! Red Hot Rhythm & Blues has now been added to the list as a 2 CD deluxe edition. Swept Away and Eaten Alive are also listed as 2 CD deluxe editions. The other RCA albums (Why Do Fools Fall In Love, Silk Electric, Ross) are all listed as expanded editions.

Been waiting a LONG time for Baby It's Me from Hip-O, so I am very happy to see these coming up soon. (BIM is apparently still in the works, but will only be a single disc.)

That's really great news. Those RCA 80s albums are some of my favourites by Diana. Swept Away was one of my first CD purchases in 1985, so it will be interesting to see what they've added to this deluxe edition.

Never having owned anything by them before, what's the mastering like on FTG releases?

Don't know bout the business part of this deal nor any of their other dealings; however, do appreciate "Funky Town Grooves" ["Classic Soul Series", "Funky Times Records", "New Skool Sounds", & "The Hidden Treasures Series"] for keeping the music 'alive'! :righton:

If i remember right, the Diana RCA ceedees are well regardED here at SHMF, so it will be interesting too find out bout the SQ on these!

They are OK, so let's hope they don't muck them up.

Their mastering is very good. The series of Gladys Knight & the Pips reissues from last year are OUTSTANDING and sadly didn't get much attention - lots of bonus mixes and unreleased tracks. If the 2-CD sets will be anything like "Visions" from last year, then they are in excellent hands.

Does she no longer release albums? Can't remember the last time I saw one.

That's comforting. Thanks. We've waited so long for these, it's good to be confident they'll be good!

The last one I had was The Force Behind The Power in 1991. Pretty good album. I think she did albums after this but for some reason I didn't get them.

I missed GK&TP Visions! I think it may already be OOP. I picked up some of the Evelyn King, a Jermaine Jackson, and Bionic Boogie. (Had to have "Risky Changes" while still available.)

She did the album of covers called I Love You. I think she still performs "More Today Than Yesterday" from it. Honestly, can't say I was very excited by it. Would love to see her do a new pop/R&B album of new material.

    I liked I Love You.
She also did Take Me Higher (1996?) after Force Behind The Power which didn't do much for me. She had a minor hot with a cover of "I Will Survive".
She also did Workin' Overtime with Nile Rogers in 1989.

I do recall this now you mention it. Never heard it though. A new album would be great. When you think how many albums she put out in the 70s and 80s, it's a shame she doesn't record now.

I remember her cover of I Will Survive. Isn't Workin' Overtime part of the FTG releases?

No, as she went back to Motown at that point. Just her RCA era.

Every Day is a New Day from 1999 is a pretty good effort. Some good R&B tracks mixed with ballads and some pop and dance songs.

Has anyone seen her live recently? Does she still perform live? Is her voice still in good shape?

I saw her a few years ago and she was great. She just completed a US tour and got good reviews.
