But what about: The 3 Totally Stripped shows Hampton 81 Toronto 2005 Leeds 82 Two of the Tokyo Dome shows Two of the Los Angeles shows Texas '78
Exactement! Early on, they did "Gimme Shelter" which they dropped after a few shows into the tour (and only resurrected for Altamont, if I'm not mistaken), and a VERY cool version of "I'm Free" with a rather melodic and laidback MT solo.
There is a version of "I'm Free" on Yayas Deluxe. The way the releases have been coming I thing it's most unlikely we'll get anything else from the '69 tour.
Whatever you say but have the Stones camp shown any inclination, so far, to put out multiple releases from the same tour?....
Yes these are minimally altered and the common denominator is Ron Wood who is rock solid on each one. Unedited/raw works for him. I bought all of those shows, and I love them, and will buy everything from the Ron Wood years because he is a great player and I love him in the band. Even '82 Leeds and the Extra Tokyo Dome show offer more variation on the other shows from the same tours with basically the same set. I don't see the Stones being confident enough in their playing from earlier eras to do the same kind of warts and all releases, but again, I could be wrong
Now that the fuzz and criticism about On Air has settled, has any rumour leaked about what is next in the Vault series? Wait for next April to post another Paris 76 spoof please...
Upgraded version with an extra 18 minutes of footage. The Rolling Stones: Knebworth 1976 definitive edition
The one you posted in post #1358 seems better quality than this. It's not the same one, is it? It would be great to get an official release of this.
It was posted on the same YouTube channel. I haven’t had a good look at it yet. It has all the footage from the first version within it.
Yes. A new studio album is coming this year. Hopefully more Vault releases will follow after that is announced
Paris and/or Knebworth ‘76 for me. @John Fell that was a sick joke that they played last April saying that Paris ‘76 was being released. I’d still like to find the person who made that and give them what for!
This show needs to come out in full, in optimum quality. Definitely the best filmed post '72 live Stones up until at least Some Girls Live in Texas, and maybe better than that...
