As far as I know, nothing. Just released with two different titles at some point (or in some markets).
If you have never seen One plus One, when it ends you will feel like you trudged though the session with the Stones. When I saw it I was emotionally drained. It is slow... Buying it.
Happy to pay a bit more for a Miami '94 configurations sans Whoopi Goldberg and her tacky Planet Hollywood jacket.
"Not Fade Away" "Tumbling Dice" "You Got Me Rocking" "Rocks Off" "Sparks Will Fly" "Live With Me" "Satisfaction" "Beast Of Burden" "Angie" "Dead Flowers" "Sweet Virginia" "Doo Doo Doo Doo Doo" "It's All Over Now" "Stop Breaking Down" "Who Do You Love" "I Go Wild" "Miss You" "Honky Tonk Women" "Before They Make Me Run" "The Worst" "Sympathy For The Devil" "Monkey Man" "Street Fighting Man" "Start Me Up" "It's Only Rock'n Roll (But I Like It)" "Brown Sugar" "Jumpin' Jack Flash"
Incorrect, the Godard cut is called One Plus One and has the alternate ending, doesn't end with the studio version of "Sympathy" which was added by the producer
Have never seen the Sympathy movie, not sure if I will get that, but will pick up the 94 CD/DVD. I do agree that I wish they would clear the 60s and 70s vaults out first.
The "60s vaults" aren't theirs to clean out, because ABKCO. But in the meantime, there was the YaYas deluxe; the "Charlie is My Darling" deluxe; and while 1996 sounds like an eternity ago, the prospect of a release of "Circus" made me trek to the NY Film Festival for a big-screen eyeful, after years of squinting at really really bad VHS copies. The 70s? There's official releases out from '71, '72, '73, '75, '78.... I've been in pig heaven for years. I'm genuinely sorry to hear you're not having a better time. Only '76 and '70 are missing to cover the decade. (FWIW, because of this conversation, I revisited the Google MP3 archive downloads. "Brussels" MP3s - the first release - have nice DRs hovering around 10. Tokyo - every track I bothered to check was a 7.)
Didn't say at any point that I wasn't enjoying what had been released, just expressing what I would personally like to see. So please don't be sorry or condescending, whichever you were attempting, on my account. Yes there have been a bunch of 70s releases, but personally I'd rather hear more from that era than the 90s and 00s. I am good with mutiple live releases from those years aw well. A studio outtake Bootleg Series type release series would be nice too.
The years you desire are copiously covered in the grey market. Not always in audiophile format, I get that. We all have a personal favorite boot from those years that we're dying to hear cleaned up, absolutely. But I'm 55. I'm not in the mood to wait until you're happy before I get me some "No Security" or Paradiso '95. In fact, as long as we're all sitting on Santa's lap.... I want a Proper Roseland '02. I want a proper Vet Stadium and FUC (Philly) from '02. I want the MSG 3-night stand in 1998. I want a proper Double Door '97. Some of these shows are far from "New". They're 20 years old.
A long time ago I took my VHS copy of Sympathy, put it on my video editing pc and made my own cut of just the Stones in the studio. I cut out all the crap. I think I'll skip this new release, unless they include a Stones only version. The movie scenes are awful.
I saw this in a theater on a big screen. Back in the days of repertory cinema. Isn't there some young lady who gets followed around FOREVER by a film crew getting asked questions and just saying "No!"?? Needles, meet eyes.
Ok, I'm lost. Who was telling you that you had to wait for anything? It's not like my post is a direct line to the Stones telling them to release what I want, it was just a post about a preference. We disagree, no big deal. Hey, I even said I was looking forward to the 94 release and was going to purchase it. I usually buy everything they put out.
I saw it two or three times in a cinema that would play old rock movies once or twice a month (the old Valhalla, for those from Melbourne). I was totally engrossed by the bit's the Stones were in...and just about asleep for the rest. Wasn't there a version that was just the Stones parts?
TonyCzar wote: "The 70s? There's official releases out from '71, '72, '73, '75, '78.... I've been in pig heaven for years." I second that emotion. "Only '76 and '70 are missing to cover the decade." Well El Mocambo '77 is in the vault and I would be surprised if the Oshawa '79 concert is not as well.
