This is one of the changes from the book that didn't work IMO, and doesn't make sense as you say.

For the most part I'm happy with the changes they make in the series. Many of them are good, streamline the story and cut out some unnecessary characters. But this change still makes no sense to me, its a big misstep IMO.

As to why, I think they did it because the show's version is more feel-good.

So, another thing Pod has in common with a horse: an enormous ... appetite.

I wish they would have kept that plot line going. It just disappeared at the end of season 3. The show needs some humor now and then.

I know there are a few fans of Arya Stark here, Maisie Williams who plays her is from just down the road from me in Somerset and our local BBC news programme just did a report on her return to the village she grew up in, they've kindly put a much longer version on their Facebook page:

It's nice to hear that poor ol' Arya finally made it home! That girl is forever being shuffled to one place or another but she never seems to reach her destination.

Being from the same part of the world I'm quite attuned to proper local accents and enjoy hearing Maisie occasionally slip into a broad north Somerset accent which she then corrects and switches to a more bland or posh sounding voice, anyway it's nice to see she hasn't forgotten her roots and strangely they are in the West and not the North.

I just spent a week in Dubrovnik which has prompted me to start a marathon of the first three seasons. A remarkable show and place. BTW the beer was quite nice!

Supposedly Cersei (Lena Headey) is doing a great nude scene in the next season..

Let me just say that after Dexter and Breaking Bad came to their respective ends, I was looking for some good shows to fill the void.

Game of Thrones has been a great follow-up show, it has the same amount of plot twists and surprises as Breaking Bad or Dexter (when the show was good) did. I think the first season might be my favorite, but the others are not far behind. Great sets, costume designs, excellent casting and acting for so many characters, very good storytelling script. And yes, there are beautiful women abound.

My only thing with the show- I had to pace myself and sometimes re-watch a few episodes to fully follow what was going on with all the different clans. There's a lot happening at once to process.

I have not read the books and at this point would prefer not to; I'd rather be surprised on a weekly basis as I have with previous television shows.

If you had read the books, you would still have to rewatch each episode to fully follow what's going on. They help but there's still a lot going on with different twists. Some things are not changed, like major plot points or the fate of a character but still....

Or maybe it's just me. :biglaugh:

I'm not crazy about the books. I read the first 2 and don't feel I'll read anymore.
