So...it was Jamie who killed the king to take the throne from the Targaryans. It will be Jamie who kills the queen to hand it back to the Targaryans.

For all of its extreme twists...GoT sure seems to have a sense of justice and symmetry.

Even more ironic is the fact that Jaime killed Aerys to prevent him from doing what Cersei actually did. If I understand the story correctly, Jaime didn't kill Aerys because he was lusting for power, he killed Aerys because Aerys was a mad, murderous SOB who was going to destroy the entire city and everyone in it. And now his beloved sister may have not actually destroyed the entire city, but has destroyed its ancient sept and who knows how much of the surrounding community. Thousands of people died, the majority of them surely just collateral damage. AND it led directly to the death of Jaime's last living child.

Yeah, Cersei's reign will be short, unless the Mountain decides to play Stretch Armstrong with Jaime.

NOT A SPOILER...BUT A THOUGHT REGARDING A POTENTIAL FAN THEORY.

I've always thought the idea that Tyrion might be the Mad King's son was a bad theory. If Joana, Tywin's wife, was impregnated by Aerys, it would be much more ironic if Cersei and Jaime were his bastards, leaving Tyrion as Tywin's only true-born child.

The foundation of that theory though is that it would mean
Tyrion could ride a dragon alongside Daenerys and presumably Jon.

The problem with this theory is Jaime and Cersei are twins and older than Tyrion.

Tyrion's dynamics with his father stem from his father's disgust that he's a dwarf, his wife died giving birth to him, and I'm sure Tywin questioned his legitimacy from the get go. I do like your theory, though. However, Tyrion's story arc makes more sense if he's part Targaryen.

I agree with others above. I think the show has gone full circle from mad King Aerys II Targaryen to mad Queen Cersie Lannister.

I could see Brienne of Tarth killing Cersei and we would have Kingslayer Jamie and Queenslayer Brienne.

Tyrion can be burned, see Season 1 Ep 9. No dragon's blood there.

I don't understand the Targaryen fire immunity:

Viserys, who was Danaerys' brother, was killed by molten gold & could be burned

but Danaerys can walk into fire, boiling water, etc at will & not be harmed?

Also what is Jon Snow's situation with fire? he is half Targaryen....surely if he was immune to fire, many people would have noticed, while he was growing up?
