First $750 Broadway tickets from the latter, now this $2,000 Kiss thing up to $35,000 from Gene. Some so-called "artists" are really exploiting their biggest fans to the greatest degree they can while feeding their oversized egos.
At least Gene never said he cared about the poor so much...he's not a liar, just an *******.

On Twitter, Gene says (in response to an article saying it costs $50k for personal delivery):
"ArtistDirect is making up stuff. Fake news!!!http://GeneSimmonsVault.Com $2,000 and I'll fly to you and hand deliver the Vault.

If that's the case, it's actually not a bad deal.

 

It's still a lot of money. But I wouldn't begrudge fans who ponied up.

 

2,000 is the meet and greet one. The home one is 50,000. Says so right on the Vault site.

 

It was a joke. And yes, our "classic"heros are indeed cashing in, only if you let them. My solution , dig deep, sample a local college radio station, discover a new talent and support them.

 

Imagine if he and his henchmen or henchwomen get some addresses wrong, perhaps in some of the more off the beaten track parts of the USA or world.

Ding Dong goes the doorbell, and there he is, possibly with his tongue out, accompanied by a suspicious looking large box.

He said this on fox news today but he also specified that he'll hand deliver it to a particular place but there has to be a reasonable number of people/sales there. And 'there' isn't necessarily where you are but a reasonable place (possibly) in between you and where he goes. This is a cluster (yfup!!!!!) waiting to happen.

That Gene sees this as 'giving back' has to feel like a kick in the balls to any long time KISS Army soldiers.

Especially if you live in Australia. Gene might even lose money on you in that case, assuming you're the only buyer in Australia/New Zealand.

Gene is both legitimately famous for something and active in the new world where you can be famous for being famous, so I think he'd easily get recognized in London.

 

The $50K home delivery option is only for the contiguous United States. The $2K vault experience where you spend a staggering 5 whole minutes with him has a set schedule...

How long will the event last?

Each Vault buyer and their guest will get 5 or so minutes with Gene in which you will receive your vault. Before and after your allotted time you are welcome to hang out in the ballroom, talk with other fans, enjoy snacks and listen to music.

Translation: As soon as the last Vault is handed over he is gone.

 

Ah....so technically he wasn't lying when he said "For $2000 I'll fly to you and hand deliver the Vault" -- just replace "you" with "a pre-designated mall kiosk in the city closest to you".

 

That's funny because in that video I posted he specifically mentions a place that I don't know in Finland, but there are dates in Finland. But then he trails off after mentioning some place in Moscow, which is odd given that Moscow is a city and not a country. But regardless, there are no dates in Moscow. So if you're in Moscow it strikes me that the only 'close' places are either Sweden, Finland or Frankfurt, Germany.

Gene says this box is 40 pounds. Anybody else wonder what it would cost to fly a 40 pound item from Stockholm to Moscow? Plus your flight both ways? Plus the $2000 you already paid for the box?

 

I wonder how much he would charge to show up in makeup...Peter's makeup.

 

I'd love an affordable version of this box set and if that gets released I'll buy it... but I'm not entitled to it and neither is anyone else.

Well if he can't fly to you for the 2k package he should at least send a wig like the one he's wearing.

 

Well, he is flat out lying in that Fox segment: "if you're in Moscow I'm gonna get on a plane and I'm gonna deliver your box set to you".

He actually says "if you're in Moskva - Moscow...", Moskva being the proper Russian name of the city in question. But still, the closest place he's intending to visit would be Helsinki, which is only about 1000 km away...

Please help me understand. How is Gene exploiting anyone? Ok, the box set is $50,000. Most people aren't going to buy it. Most people can't buy it. How is that exploiting anyone?

You can only really be exploited if you're forced at gunpoint to buy it and no one is being forced to buy it.

Again, most people can't buy it, but the one's who can afford and would throw away $50,000 on a meet and greet? They must have so much money that $50K isn't anything to them. I'm guessing like a NFL team owner or the Hard Rock Cafe would be the types who would spend that kind of cash. But they're not being exploited. $50,000 is a drop in the bucket for them.
