Sad news.... he had been quite quiet these last few years....
    I will always remember him....
I loved his movies with Mel, & of course, "Wonka", BUT, in my early years, HBO often showed his films; "Start The Revolution Without Me", "The Adventure Of Sherlock Holmes' Smarter Brother" & "The World's Greatest Lover"
These are often overlooked, but just as funny as the well-known ones!

    "GOOD DAY, SIR!"

Just saw this on the news.

Willy Wonka was my first exposure as a kid. Then loved him later in films like Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein, Stir Crazy and a few other movies with Richard Pryor.

Yeah, don't forget, folks, that Wilder has a key, scene-stealing sequence in Bonnie and Clyde, one of the two or three most seminal American films of the upending 1960s.
