Dan Bornemark had this to say about "Intro '74" which was on the 'Under Construction' set.

"The original recording from ’74 differs a great deal from the newly released version. For the new one, Kerry has used the original audio as a fundament and he has overdubbed instruments from modern sound sources onto the arrangement. It’s both wickedly cool and gives a nice stereo image. However, this is not how it actually sounded back in ’74. Might be good to know.

Anyway, I’m really happy this version also exists, since it is a vivid example of how great Kerry’s compositional skills were and the way he has both enshrined and enhanced the arrangement." -dB

Noah Shulman (Derek's son) had a short update on the Proclamation video -

We're still working on the audio edit and then moving into visuals. I'm hoping in the coming weeks we should have it out! We had over 100 submissions of all sort of instruments (the standards plus violins, flutes, accordions, mandolins etc). There are some surprised guests (all members of GG make an appearance) as well as some other notable musicians of the time.

Additionally we started to ramp up content on the band's YouTube channel and are trying to build our subscriber base there. We had a few of the clips upscaled and released a 4K visual (aka pseudo video) of the Octopus album and Three Friends should be going up in the few days. Spread the word on subscribing!

Join host Pete Pardo for a discussion with Gentle Giant vocalist/multi-instrumentalist/songwriter Derek Shulman, as they talk about the career of this great progressive rock act, as well as the bands new box set 'Unburied Treasure'.

Apparently Steven Wilson has already remixed Freehand and Interview. Derek talks about The Missing Piece coming as well!

Apparently because of radio honcho Lee Abrams' connection to the album. He wound up keeping it off the FM rock stations he owned/programmed, which was most of them, in order to avoid being accused of a conflict of interest. (This was reported at the time).

Gentle Giant reunite for new version of Proclamation | Louder

Proclamation video coming on the 15th!

"The classic Gentle Giant line-up have reunited for the first time in nearly four decades for an extraordinary new video. Pieced together over the last few months, it’s a brand new performance of Proclamation (originally from the legendary prog band’s 1974 album The Power & The Glory) including appearances from GG alumni Derek and Ray Shulman, Gary Green, Kerry Minnear, John Weathers and Malcolm Mortimore, alongside a dazzling array of contributions from some remarkably talented fans. There are also cameos from numerous notable musicians including Jakko Jakszyk, Billy Sherwood, Yes/Steve Hackett bassist Lee Pomeroy, Dan Reed (Dan Reed Network), Richard Hilton (Chic) and Mikey Heppner (Priestess)."
