There's a temple on an island
I think of all the Gods and what they feel
You can only find them in the deepest silence
I got to get off of this big wheel

Some times my life it feels like fiction
Some of the days it's really quite serene
I'm a living proof of all life's contradictions
One half's going where the other half's just been

My favorite George song from his entire catalog...It's part of my signature. RIP George...15 years and world seems even more lost without your music and wisdom in these dire times:

    15 years? OMG ...

Still a great body of work, Beatles and solo.

He gotta be older than 15 years old. I thought he was born in, like... 1943.

Wasn't George a producer of the Beatles spoof The Rutles?

I recently got a vinyl copy of Concert for Bangla Desh. Decades later I'm still in awe of George's commitment to helping that humanitarian crisis.

I remember waking up fifteen years ago today, lighting a cigarette and turning on the TV and seeing the odd sight of George Harrison on VH1.

It was 6:30 in the morning, I figured that it was something random they were filling a time slot with.

6:35 or so, they ran something like "George Harrison, 1943-2001" or "George Harrison died in Los Angeles yesterday" underneath.

I had seen three grandparents die because they had tobacco habits but it was my admiration of George Harrison that made that cigarette I'd lit at 6:25 and finished about 6:32 my last.

My favorite Beatle, the funniest of the four in my opinion.

George, missing you. Can't believe it's already 15 years gone.
I will play some of my favorite tunes from George soon.

No, he had a cameo in the TV special, but he wasn't a producer. His film production career began a little later when he bankrolled "Life of Brian."

Both parents & two of my grandparents here. Except for a few smokes during my teens, I've been lucky enough to avoid tobacco. Glad you were able to quit, Ranger — I've had friends who kicked both coke & tobacco who said quitting cigarettes was much harder.

On the 15th anniversary of George's passing, I'm very sad I never picked up a blu ray copy of The Concert for George while it was available. It's now sadly out of print.

Rhino really ought to re-release this exceptional concert, one of the greatest tributes to any musician that I've ever seen. Billy Preston'a heartfelt Isn't it a Pity was the standout for me... but there many remarkable moments in this show

I had a similar experience with both John and George (although I was 10 when John was killed, I'd only just entered Beatle fandom - still it hit me HARD).

Did a long set on my show last night featuring George's music (and some cuts from the tribute concert). He is definitely one musician I would've loved to have met.

    So we're the same age!

I guess we are a part of the second generation of Beatles fans that discovered the group after the break-up but during a relatively short window of being fans when all four were still alive. While still so young, I remember the feeling of expectation of an eventual Beatles reunion until December 8, 1980. The morning of the 9th changed everything in that it was never to be again. George's passing 21 years later was sad and expected for me personally, but John's murder was a crushing blow of another sort.

Also listened to most of Wonderwall Music yesterday... interesting choice, but I realized I'd not heard it before! I was curious.

Mal Evans remains were being shipped--I think back home to England--and became lost in transit. Upon hearing the sad news John made a comment that someone should check the dead letter office.

Yes, I think you are right!

I remember having bought "Just Like Starting Over" about a week before John died, and his murder was the first big news event to really get to me. It actually scared me.. like, "Who does that? Who kills a musician?!" And I was already aspiring to be a musician at that tender age, so it was a sobering reality check. Major loss of innocence there. I'd liked a lot of the Beatles' music prior to that day (and much of what solo stuff I'd heard), but waking up on Dec 9 to that news changed everything.

With George, since news had been reported of how ill he'd become, I wasn't surprised by his death, but deeply saddened by it. And 2001 had been such a hard year already. I was happy he wasn't suffering any longer, but.....
