No, there are still a lot of young George Harrison fans (myself included).

Right... there are always new generations of Beatles (and George) fans coming up. Still, I do wonder why the first and second generation fans have to wait so long.... "Don't Let Me Wait Too Long!" :)

I'm 19 and I addicted on Georgie hehehe, but cmon, that demo was beautiful! I really dont understand why they just dont let Giles Martin work on some of his demos, the will have to see the final product before getting a release right? So whats the problem of letting someone do the "heavy lifting" ? If they dont like what Giles Martin lets say, did with the songs, they just dont put it out...

Amazing. It's really encouraging to see that George Harrison has a legion of new (and young) fans. As it should be, too.

That said, I volunteer at a public radio station where I am digitizing the LP collection and I mentioned some weeks ago to an intern about the building excitement for the Harrison Apple Years set and he had no idea what I was talking about.

An observation: My music collection is on a computer. If I play, say, ET or Somewhere in England from start to finish, I get bored. BUT ... if I play songs on shuffle and a Harrison track pops up, I just sit back and admire. The songs to a fault hold up and they hold up well in that randomness.

I didn't know the albums had been reissued separately until I ran across them at Wal-Mart. Since Electronic Sound is the only Harrison album I didn't have, I bought it. Now my collection is complete.

But have you listened to it yet?

You might return it back to the store after you do. ... ;)

Very well said on both points.

Do Dhani and Olivia know the demographics of George's fans?

Also, seriously, are George's tapes actually sitting somewhere deteriorating? Yikes!

Um excuse me, I suggested Mssrs Ron Brainwashed, Arnold Grove, Sean Murdoch Glenn Christense, and Joe Fornarotto trawl thru the vaults.
Signed, Mal (which means I carry their baggage) ;)

Heard it on Youtube several months ago. It's not Wonderwall but it's interesting. The CD is very nicely packaged with a replica of the original inner sleeve and an informative booklet. Of course, I also rather like the only other Zapple release, John and Yoko's Life with the Lions.

And Charlie's version of Here Comes The Sun. I think George would've loved it.

Wow, this little recording is beautiful! His voice sounds great here. I really hope they get on with releasing more outtakes and demos. Teases like this are just killer! Olivia played the Esher demo of Sour Milk Sea, or at least a minute of it, on a radio show in 09 or around there, and it sounded much better than we've otherwise heard. Oh well, I'll complain another time, right now I just wanna savor this new piece

    Hi Gang,

Little sidestep here as I don't know where else to find such a large gathering of George devotees. I'm working on a 3-cd set that will include everything that was officially released that is NOT on the cds of: a) the Apple box, b) the Dark Horse box, c) the Wilburys box, d) the Bangladesh set, or e) Brainwashed. I'm Incorporating all of The Early Years, Volume 1 into the track listing as that album is so short and I had just enough space. This is what I've come up with:
    Disc 1
In The First Place (film mix)
In The First Place (Abbey Road mix)
    Isn't It A Pity (demo)
    Run Of The Mill (demo)
    Behind That Locked Door (demo)
Woman Don't You Cry For Me (early take)
I'd Have You Anytime (early take)
    My Sweet Lord (demo)
Awaiting On You All (early take)
    All Things Must Pass (demo)
    My Sweet Lord (7" mix)
    Bangla Desh (7" mix)
    Deep Blue (concert rehearsal)
The Light That Has Lighted The World (demo)
Sue Me, Sue You Blues (demo)
    Miss O'Dell (alternate version)
    Dark Horse (promo edit)
Ding Dong; Ding Dong (promo edit)
    Hari's On Tour (Express) (live)
    For You Blue (live)
This Guitar (Can't Keep From Crying) (7" edit)
    This Song (7" edit)
It's What You Value (UK 7" edit)
Learning How To Love You (early mix)

    Disc 2
    Here Comes The Sun (live)
    Homeward Bound (live)
    Mo
    Blow Away (demo)
Love Comes To Everyone (7" edit)
    Life Itself (demo)
    Lay His Head
    Flying Hour
    Sat Singing
    Unconsciousness Rules (LP edit)
    Teardrops (7" edit)
    Save The World (remix)
That's The Way It Goes (remix)
I Don't Want To Do It (LP mix)
I Don't Want To Do It (45 mix)
    Someplace Else (film mix)
Breath Away From Heaven (film mix)
    The Hottest Gong In Town
While My Guitar Gently Weeps (live)
    Here Comes The Sun (live)
Mama You've Been On My Mind

    Disc 3
Got My Mind Set On You (extended version)
When We Was Fab (reverse end)
    Handle With Care (extended version)
End Of The Line (extended version)
    Not Alone Anymore (early mix)
    Cheer Down
    Poor Little Girl
    Cockamamie Business
    Poor Little Girl (promo edit)
    Ride Rajbun
    New Blue Moon (instrumental)
    Runaway (original version)
    Absolutely Sweet Marie (live)
    My Back Pages (live)
    Let It Be Me
Distance Makes No Difference With Love
    Horse To The Water
    Horse To The Water (remix)
    George Plays The Uke

Now my questions... Am I missing anything? I know I don't have the mono Wonderwall album on the list. I also know I left Dispute And Violence (live) off as I couldn't fit it and plus there's limited George involvement anyway, so off it went. Anything else?

Next question... I have everything on this list, with a few exceptions. If anyone could help me complete this list, I would be eternally grateful. Plus, I'd gladly offer up anything else on the list in trade. I'm looking for lossless rips, BTW.

    What I need:
    Poor Little Girl (promo edit)
Save The World (remix) - I have the copy thst appeared on b00t. I'm looking for a direct rip from the Greenpeace cd.
Songs By George Harrison Vols. 1 & 2 - Again, I have the b00t rips. I'm looking for some generous soul who would share lossless rips from these very rare cds.

Anyway, that's it. Any help would be very much appreciated and I thank all of you who have read this far! :)

    Mike

I would include "The Inner Light [Session Highlights]" (1:31) from the Living In The Material World FILM (DVD bonus feature; it's kind of a companion piece to the Wonderwall bonus track) and the original 2006 mix of the Platinum Weird "This Guitar." Great list!

  19. I came upon a similar discovery when I started making playlists. Many artists aren't really suited for the long "album format". I still make playlists, having a 10-15 minute segment (typically 3 or 4 songs) from one artist/album, and then switch to another. (Often switching between genres.) I learned to love Ringo that way...

And me! 27 years old. I think this might be a sin here, but I prefer All Things Must Pass over a large chunk of Beatles material.
