This thread has gotten far afield, but what the hell ... Larry actually is playing the violin here, starts at about 7:38, and he was pretty dang good, sounds like he may have listened to some Joe Venuti.

Is this from the same day as when John later got naked?

This could be from DURING the screening, specifically Paul's "the hurdle of nervousness" speech. :)

Not sure how you came up with the whole no-shuffle-no-drummer thing, but 1) it’s not true and 2) it’s not relevant.

Or only in major keys like that famous non-piano player Ian Stewart.

Those are from the viewing of a rough cut of the Let it Be film and dinner afterward, IIRC.

OK, I give up, let me rephrase. If you can't play a shuffle, then you would be a drummer that no high school rock band would want in their group, unless they were willing to carry two drummers at all live gigs.

Can't blame you. Let It Be movie as it stands - boring! Unfortunately sound like you deprived your family of the only really good part: the rooftop scene. :agree:

Interesting. I never realized that he actually couldn't play other than major keys; I thought that was his personal choice. I suppose such a person could still call himself a piano player - it just means that a band could never use him at live performances unless they were willing to carry two piano players (or limit all the songs they play to major keys).

Again, this is absurd. This may have been true in 1964, but it is no longer a consideration. How many high school rock bands have you heard since the 60’s? The shuffle isn’t exactly a common rhythm in modern rock, and hasn’t been for decades.
