Not in NYC, unfortunately, but it's certainly deserving.

Like I've said many times before, it's not among my all time favorite singles of theirs...but even at that, I have to disagree at the "at their most basic" comment; rhythmically, Get Back is nothing like anything The Beatles ever did on a single or album track. They had done Country flavored songs before but never set to a galloping Rock style beat. I'm not saying they worked so hard on it as to invent something drastically new..but for them, this was quite different.

Probably subconscious for sure, but it's such a distinctive riff. :)

Not a fan of the Fab Four, however, I do like Get Back.

For me the biggest hook in the song is the extra, 3rd cymbal crash from Ringo which comes after the 2 notes after "Get Back, get back, get back to where you once belonged... Duh Duh Crash".

2 notes, 3 crashes. I love that extra one!

Credited to Paul, but I'm thinking this is as far as the Beatles got in the turning-a-group-jam-into-a-song style of music making.

It's a gem on album I find to be somewhat lackluster overall. Not bad, but not up to the late period Beatles standards in my opinion.

Birthday was also a group jam from what I understand.

Abe Laboriel certainly is a bit heavy handed in general, as great of a drummer as he is.
