Alexandre Desplat is doing the score, which is interesting. I expected Tyler Bates or one of the other "hot" young action film scorers.

Hopefully they will quote Ifukube at some point.

I like how Cranston says 'typhooon' in the trailer. Clearly he's upset. Though it seems like 'hiding' Godzilla is sort of non-starter.

I do as well. Heisenberg vs Godzilla!

The monsters are a lot easier to see on the 2-D Blu-Ray (I don't have a 3-D tv, so I can't speak for the 3-D version). Well worth it if you are a fan of the movie.

I do need to see it again. I saw it in 3D IMAX, which was a mistake. Is Godzilla getting a 3D or IMAX release?

I am not sure, but I would be surprised if it isn't.

Wasn't there a speeding train on fire in the Tom Cruise version of War Of The Worlds?

I think it was also in the original novel.

They just showed several minutes of the film at the Cinemacon convention last week, and the audience of jaded theater execs blew the roof off on Godzilla. The response was so great, when Adam Sandler came out to promote his new film, the first thing he said was, "wow, how 'bout that Godzilla?"

I still think it's stupid, but there have been stupid movies before that made a lotta money. :sigh: On the positive side, this is the kind of thing I love to be wrong about: if Godzilla's a really great, well-made movie, more power to 'em. It's good for the audience, good for the filmmakers, and good for fans. Good films are good for everybody.

The idea behind this movie is no more "stupid" than a kid being bitten by a radioactive spider getting superpowers, putting on colorful pajamas and swinging around the city like a red Tarzan. Both are 100% unbelievable, but both can be supremely entertaining when executed well.

I am not surprised by that reaction from the audience at all. It looks spectacular and has some of the best creature action I have ever seen. I will be very surprise if it is not a big hit.

Extended footage on Facebook is really bringing this home....a good solid marketing campaign so far...hopefully it will peak at the right time. I'd like to see it now!
