:)Hey, I am glad I was able to help. Let's all say thanks to Sony and Amazon UK instead :targettiphat:

Does anybody know the rate of VAT in Germany? Does that come off for non-EU buyers in the same way as VAT does from Amazon UK?

I've bought from Amazons Germany, France and UK. I'm in the USA and VAT gets carved out in all of those. I think it's around 19% for Germany, but I'm sure you can find it in their Help section.

Further checking says it is exactly 19% for music and such:

Thanks. I know that Italy does deduct the VAT. I had noticed in the past that the German postage seems to be a bit higher. So I guess I was asking in a polite roundabout sort of way if the deal above had compared prices taking into account the VAT removal and postage differences? Sometimes postage can kill a deal or conversely the VAT reduction make it! I could always do the comparison for myself if I was extra keen! As its only 6.30am here in Oz I'm (yawn) less keen lol! ;)

From what I remember, compared to UK, France and Germany used to charge exorbitant amounts for postage, thereby killing any savings gained from VAT removal for me. That may have changed, though.

The prices I quoted were with VAT removed obviously, I did "mock orders" to see what price went down to and used XE.com to convert to US $.

Postage for third party sellers is still over 14 Euros for Amazon.de. For the Kinks Box the shipping to USA is 3 Euros to Michigan, very reasonable. The last order I did from Germany was 2 box sets and total shipping was just under 6 Euros.

I think it is wise to choose whoever has it cheapest as orders I have placed from the UK Amazon have arrived from Germany, France, Italy whichever distribution center has stock.

The ZZ Top Complete Studio Albums Box Set has dropped to a new low of £17.00 before VAT is removed. With VAT removed plus shipping you can get this for around $27 which is $13 dollars cheaper than Amazon US.

Not sure why this is but AMAZON are listing this at £51.99 AND £27.80. But to get the cheaper price I had to click through to other sellers BUT select AMAZON from the list at the lowest price.

Its not a third party seller, and mine just shipped from Amazon minus the VAT as usual so makes it even less......:) Ive been watching this for ages and this is the lowest price so far...;)

After VAT removal for NON EU this Hitch box works out at just US$43 or AU$49 including international shipping.

Someone on the other Amazon.com thread has pointed out that the main description says Italian language. I find this a bit strange for something with so many sellers on Amazon UK but it might be worth checking. Might be a mistake? It's too late for me, but I'll write them a message to confirm or deny......

Failing that MARCEL this deal could be made for you! ;)

Check the language! I'll post later to confirm. Unless you speak Italian ;)

This box in its UK pressing is selling all over europe, even at amazon.it.
You do get an italian dub with subtitles, though, if you like that sort of thing.
