£38 currently is worth $48 so would be $22 less than you paid , roughly a third cheaper

I bought the Some Girls LP when it came out at Alexander's in Queens for $3.77. What does a new LP go for today?

Still a steel IMO at that price.
It comes with a code for WAV or FLAC download included.
Excellent Manchester band with a Vini Riley vibe.

So, when did Amazon UK remove all but one (slow) shipping option to the US? Amazon Japan has a similar singular option, but they manage to get stuff to me in about 2 days, whereas Amazon UK is now quoting about 2 weeks. Moreover, my in-stock items have yet to ship even though I ordered them days ago. Are they trying to suppress overseas orders?

  10. Recently they have been slower to dispatch in-stock items to non prime UK customers as well.

Some (but not all) in-stock items can take up to 10 days from date of order before being dispatched.

Makes you wonder if some items listed as in-stock are not actually in stock at all. That could explain these hold ups/delays.

Recently in UK, Amazon have been reprimanded by our advertising regulation authority for not delivering next day to prime customers paying a premium for the service. Maybe, in light of that, other customers are being made to wait a bit longer so they can prioritize other obligations?

    Amazon's one-day delivery ad 'misleading'

  12. It makes no sense to further delay dispatching items to non-prime customers because they have difficulties getting prime orders delivered on time/next day. The longer it takes them to dispatch orders the longer it is before they take payment for the orders.

On another issue - a few times recently I ordered a couple of 'in-stock' items, only to be told later it was "Currently unavailable. We don't know when or if this item will be back in stock."

Yeah, I remember reading about that. It's probably because all the Amazon UK executives are at the pub!

Thanks for the info, guys. Still does not explain why they have removed faster/costlier shipping options for international orders. Will certainly have to take this into account later in the year when it comes time to order things for Xmas.

That was my guess as well. I ordered a vinyl album some months ago and the shipping cost was £2.94.

Ordered a single cd recently, and the shipping cost was about £5.

Maybe £5 shipping was from marketplace, not from Amazon itself. I just ordered vinyl album and postage & packing to Indonesia was £3.58.
