I'd LOVE to jump in on this, but it is going to be in the mid 90's here all week, which equals low 100's in a brown metal truck.

 

You think the ones shipped to your local store, or to your favorite online retailer, don't go in the hot brown metal trucks to get to them?

 

I also don't think it would be a problem, but I'd be curious to know what vinyl's melting point really is.

 

Just a heads up: The $3.99 / CD sale ended at BestBuy and Amazon's prices immediately went back to normal on all the titles...

 

I had to return a record I signed out from the library back in the day, so I threw it into the trunk of my black MG Midget and sped off to the library 15 minutes away. The vinyl's edge looked like a pie crust within that 15 minutes. The outside temp was only in the mid 80's. They charged me $22.00 to replace it.

 

Ouch. So not that high.

 

If I thought like this I'd probably only have about 2 months out of the year to order records.

 

The trunk is a small space with no ventilation and the sun beating down on the top of it. A UPS truck doesn't have windows in the back cabin where the packages are kept, but unless you're in a very rural area I assume the front or back door gets opened quite frequently as the driver makes his stops. I doubt the temperature in the UPS truck gets as hot as the trunk of a small car.
