The comedy Hatching, Matching, and Dispatching. Only went 1eason (6 eps) in 2006 on the CBC before it was axed due to "politics" within the CBC. In all honesty, the show as a poor fit for CBC given that every third word was the "F" word lol. It was about a family in Newfounland who ran a wedding planning, mortuary, and ambulance service. If you hadn't been to Newfoundland and/or didn't know anything about Newfounland it was funny BUT if you had been / had knowledge of Newfound land you'd be ROFLYAO lol.

The good news is that after protracted negotiations the original cast have just finished filming a ..... Chritsmas movie lol. While that is good news I happen to know that the series itself will never see the light of day again .......

NOTE - This Youtube clip is FULL of "F" bombs and is definatley not suitable for work, those who are sensitive to swearing, small childern, or for people who can't breath when they laugh too hard ;)

I really liked "Invasion" (2005) - a smart take on a "slow" alien invasion. It had an excellent cast and a great build-up to the season finale but (from what I've read) it was too slow for most peoples liking.

A spin-off from the X-Files, lasted one season. I think it didn't do well because people expected the X-Files when it was almost more like Mission Impossible meets the Three Stooges.

I liked the show "Life is Wild" about a family moving to Africa that was on UPN or CW a few years ago, but I think I was the only one watching it.

Decoy (1957) Currently streaming on APrime, episodes on YouTube

Hard edged, gritty, glamorous show featuring a New York City female undercover cop on various assignments.

I've only watched the pilot but I'm already hooked. Don't know why they cancelled it - I think I know, but it couldn't have been because people weren't watching it. Compelling, if not entirely believable.

I remember really liking that when it ran, back when I was seven. They played one episode on broadcast TV lately (I missed it) and that was all. DVDs are on Amazon.com but they are $55.

Great choices. Golden Years reminds me about another show around that time, "Wild Palms" which I thought was good but remember nothing about it now.

A couple of shows I thought were great about 5 years earlier than that were Max Headroom and The Highway Man. I own the Dark Shadows Revival on DVD but I'd love to see all of these shows again to see how they'd hold up. Somebody mentioned The Flash earlier, which is another one I thought was a great TV adaptation but seeing clips on youtube recently I don't think that it aged well at all.

The Invaders lasted 1 and a half seasons. It was a mid season replacement series released in early 1967 and ran a second season 1967-68. There was a total of 43 episodes done. Great show, it should have lasted longer. Roy Thinnes as David Vincent was great. One or two more seasons would have made the show more popular in syndication. It deserved better.

No, APrime. I was so impressed by the pilot that I thought I might invest in the DVD but the more episodes I watch the more it seems like an extended PSA, essentially. Captures of NY landmarks and old neighborhoods, long gone now, have kept me intrigued.

Anybody mention the short-lived Tim Robbins series "The Brink" ? We enjoyed first season, but abruptly canceled.

I didn't realize that was only on for one season. Still remember that great theme song.
