I think that was because it was political satire and most people actually liked the government the year they made it.

I enjoyed The Flash, it was one of the best super-hero based TV shows put on television up to that time. However, I think the biggest mistake they made with the series is that The Flash fought too many ordinary criminals who wouldn't be much of a challenge. They needed to introduce his more interesting villains.

One of the reasons The Rogues (including Captain Cold, Captain Boomerang, Mirror Master, Weather Wizard, Abra Kadabra, The Trickster [who did appear], and Heatwave) are a challenge to The Flash isn't just their abilities but that the work together as a team. While the comic book versions of The Rogues probably wouldn't work, a darker and grittier version might.

    Mighty Orbots

A Saturday Morning series featuring five robots plus one more who combine into a giant robot. Although it had been done many times before, what was interesting was:
    • Each of the five robots had a special ability (strength, shape shifting, energy manipulation, elemental [such as fire, wind] manipulation, and matter to energy conversion [via eating anything] that would also be available to the giant robot when they fused together. One forms the main body and the others become the limbs.
    • Each of them had a human personality that reflected their abilities and also made them tend to have trouble getting along, although they could work together when push comes to shove.
The other robot functioned as an activation key when the robots were fused together.

A series that had a great deal of potential but, sadly, only ran for 13 episodes (according to Wikipedia it was only on the air from September to December 1984 and was cancelled due to a lawsuit).

"Finder Of Lost Loves" with Tony Franciosa with theme song sung by Dionne Warwick and Luther Vandross.... True, it was a Love Boat clone, but Anthony Franciosa had class.

There were two seasons of The Office, although of course fewer episodes than there would have been in one season of the American show.
