This would be a fine choice. More of us need to beat the steady but funky drumbeat for a full show Reconstruction release.
That box set is a treasure IMO. The disks are supplemented with some real good stuff-especially the Cats cd!
Well -anyway-now Bob is senior statesman in Dead and Company-he is actually sporting a black t shirt each show-and letting JM be the energetic young guy. Of course I miss the Jerry grin when he was seemingly chuckling at over the top Bob( Bob doesn't grin at John).
Has anyone heard/read anything more on the previously reported early Jerry Acoustic cd box set which was going to be released?
We're coming up on number ten in the Garcia Live series... Maybe a Reconstruction show would be appropriate for the anniversary?
ALL Jerry downloads are half price at nugs.net this weekend. I may stock up on pure Jerry or Garcia live releases
Good tip, thanks. I just grabbed a few Pure Jerry releases that I don't have. In checking those some were only $6.50 or $7.50, some around $13 and others $20+. I don't remember what full price normally is but probably depends on number of tracks.
That's a vast savings over the price of physical media for those Pure Jerry releases. Every time I correspond with the Garcia website I throw in something about reissuing those.
Garcia S/T was a white vinyl RSD only, but it was then released on black vinyl shortly thereafter on Garcia's site. I believe the same for Reflections, purple vinyl on RSD then black release right after.
I am on a personal spending freeze this month for non-essentials. (including music, especially when I can stream the albums in my subscription service) But those deals on the Jerry Band music almost made me break my pledge. I was this close to getting the Jerry Garcia Band, Let it Rock, the 1991 GarciaLive, and a few others. I am glad you bought a bunch. I feel better now about not spending my money this time around.
The main reason I went for the Pure Jerry releases is because some of them are usually over $40 so I didn’t want to miss out on getting them at a much more reasonable price
Thanks for the heads-up! Just grabbed Don't Let Go and GarciaLive Vol 2 (8/5/90 Berkley). I don't think I've heard him cover Tears of Rage before.
At the risk of repetition, you'll forgive me for posting this again. Killer Jerry Band 1978 comp. set.
New acquisition; this is the only GarciaLive I didn’t own. I’ve streamed it before but this is the first run through on CD; so far so good. After this I’ll be digging into the three Pure Jerry FLACs I bought in the nugs.net sale; I now have all of those as well. These here forums are slowly turning this minimalist into a completist.
