Maybe I was overthinking, but was it implied that Chiklis' character was sent in by Galavan to get rid of the Penguin?

I think it's weird Michael Chiklis' character showed up out of nowhere.

Who appointed him the new head of the Gotham PD? The mayor and
deputy mayor are gone. Where did he come from?

I loved the Homage to Robocop and Robocop 2 :)
I want to build a new Gotham, but there Neighborhoods there.
So, it full crime and disease. It all has to go. :)
    A new Gotham is needed...

I'm sticking with the show -- I think they're going in some interesting directions and by god, they surprised the hell out of me by killing Joker Jr.

Eh... the, uh, city council! Yeah, that's it!

Penguin is still my favorite character.

Crazy Barbara needs more screen time.

    Another very solid episode...

Butch cracks me up everytime I see him...

I loved how Chiklis' character said he learned the hard way you have to follow the rules!

Thought the Firefly character was a nice departure. . . felt sorry for her and liked how Selena was a support for her, and wasn't surprised when she "went down in flames."

Love the grittiness this show embraces.

Soooo....I watched Supergirl and than Gotham (DVR'd). SG was ok but a little too childish. While Gotham seems more PG-13. I've never watched Flash, Arrow, Smallville, or Shield. As an ol' skool comic book geek I somehow have a hard time seeing characters that were always adults being portrayed by youngsters. It's silly but what can I say? Jeez, the older the kid playing Selina gets, the more she looks like Michelle Pfiefer (whatever happened to her?). Last nights episode was good. I'm really hatin' how this new squad seems to be horning in on Bullocks screentime!

I am wondering if Selina will get her trademark whip at some point.

Not afraid to kill off people this year.

I love the first season of Arrow. You should watch it Chazro.

Less Bullock makes it less enjoyable for me.

Miss Kringle was cute. Sad to see her go also.

    Another good episode again.

I am now waiting to see what Selina does about Bruce's new friend. :shh:

It was inevitable that Penguin's mother would die and set him off.

We now have a three-sided war between Galavan, Penguin, and the GCPD.

This season has been great so far.

It sure has. Best comic book stuff on TV (note: I have not yet seen Daredevil, that may unseat it but won't dampen my enjoyment).

Did anyone notice the subtle BAT image in the episode. When I saw it, it leapt out at me but it's totally possible that it's been there all along. When the Commissioner was rallying the troops at the station, the initial view is from behind him looking down at the squad, the window and the shadows within a circle are unmistakable!;)

Not a big fan of this season so far. I think the whole Mayor storyline is being dragged out way too long. It relies way too much on multiple characters being total naïve idiots, and Galavan and his crew being completely omnipotent, until at some point eventually of course they will abruptly be no longer. It's already starting to ham-handedly unravel. Arbitrarily, Gordon realizes that Galavan's entire existence is suspiciously-timed.

Also finding the Galavan actor and his "sister" (and Barbara when she's there) to be hamming it up way too much. I get it, they want it to be comic book-ish. I always felt like the Fish character (and actress) were teetering on the edge of overacting. But Galavan's "sister" is far worse.

And the Butch brainwashing thing has never made any sense, even as a "comic book" device.

I think the Riddler stuff has been some of the less ham-fisted stuff this season; I like some of it. But as I just read elsewhere, they're kind of just ripping off "Fight Club" lately in terms of his split personality thing.

  19. I was greatly enjoying this season until they killed off Ms. Kringle. I don't like them making the Riddler another psychotic nutjob. Everything else has been going pretty good by my standards. The weakest link on this show is clearly the kid playing Bruce Wayne. He's not much of an actor, even by children his age.

Yes, because The Riddler in the comics is such a stable character.

Exactly. Not sure why people would expect him to be some sort of calm and cool killer since that isn't his character at all.

I'm sure it is, I'm waiting for the discs to be put up for sale. Jessica Jones looks as if it will be quite good as well.

Tellyawhat, as much as I'm enjoying the show, the latest episode was bloodier than the last few episodes of the Walking Dead! I absolutely have no problem with cinematic violence and gore but I keep thinking that since it's a show based on a comic book and it's 8 o'clock show time, that kids are likely to be tuning in. This show's NOT for kids.

Daredevil is extraordinarily good, but ya know, Gotham is a close second for me.

It frightens me that my 12-year-old nephew watches this show, and loves it to the point where it's his favorite show.
