I don't know how anyone can speak for "most". From the Italians I know in my family they have zero problem with it. If one watches the Godfather or Goodfellas and sees nothing but "gangster" and Italian food, I feel very sorry for that persons distorted mindset.

Btw for the record, pizza is just awesome. Gotta be my favorite food or close to it.

    >>>>>Could be, but strange because there have now been 3 movies made about Gotti. Some people with $$$ certainly think the subject matter is worthwhile.

Travolta had a good 2007 commercially, as both "Wild Hogs" and "Hairspray" did well.

Not much box office success since then, though...

BoxOfficeMojo says $82 million WW on $45 million budget, so it lost money - not a ton, because it was relatively cheap, but still in the red...

That is close to double the take without rentals. Kevin Smith did business like that all the time. I bet it made some money in the end, but nothing to brag about.

Rule is 2.5-3X the budget to be profitable.

"Gotti" made 1.82 times the budget.

So unlikely it made any money...

I worked on Wild Hogs and all the actors were well-behaved and total pros throughout the shoot. (Note that Travolta wore a cap through most of it, because they were concerned about the wind, uh, affecting his "hair" on the motorcycle shots.)

Travolta is a really talented actor who deserves better. He needs another Quentin Tarantino comeback or something like that.

I will say this. If someone watches a movie and says it sucks, I respect that.

While I might probe the answer, at least it isn't coming from a place of ignorance.

Some scenes in this movie look like table reading, sort of mumbling through. And my overall feeling that at some point in the production process they lost hope or something. Some parts of the film are quite good, actually, but there is a lot of inconsistency, as if they shot several different films and then stitched them together. There are places with poor digital effects, like the scene in the hospital, where they blurred foreground badly. Strange music choices in some scenes. Overall feeling: too many cooks.
I like Travolta and it's sad to see him in such a movie.

I basically agree, but if they say it "sucks" I think that person should justify their opinion....I mean I dont think thats asking too much.
