Looks like they are reissuing this boxset that goes for big bucks. Not sure if originally advertised as limited? Anyway, if the link doesn't work just go to elusive disc pre-orders. One I missed so I will be getting one.

The vinyl box, which I have, does NOT have numbering on it. And yes, it sells for a lot. I hope this reissue will change that. Its a fantastic set.

The bottom of the first issue box indicates: "Limited edition of 7,700". (Not numbered)

Right - I have a copy. Since this is being reissued, then technically what is Limited about the first issue of 7,700? Maybe with the new issue, they won't include the large booklet?

I didn't buy my copy because it was limited, so I could care less that it is being re-issued, but I just question calling something a Limited Edition and then re-issuing it in the same manner and form as the Limited Edition. If the initial pressing was numbered, that would be the limited factor, but it wasn't - so does the verbiage of "Limited edition of 7,700" make the first edition "special". I guess.

I was wondering if my eyes had been deceiving me when I first saw mention of this vinyl set being reissued (with such little fanfare to boot.) Foolishly missed out on the vinyl last time. That won't happen this time.

The first edition may be "special" only because of the colors of the cover:

and by the fact the reissue LPs are 140 g instead of 180.

I wonder if there’s no etching on the new box set as well. I’d totally forgot that was even a thing with the first pressing. Btw if anyone is still on the fence, it’s a great record set, sound and music.

    Do I pass again?

Lots of complaints over at the Dead site from those that purchased the "Limited Edition Never To Be Seen Again" first pressing.
You do get a Cornell Kaleidoscope if you purchase directly from the Dead.
    Woo hoo?

Glad I got the 1st limited edition box set, the colors on the re-issue is too muted for my taste. :sigh:

Just having my first listen to the new set. Sounds great so far. Missed out on the first pressing so glad they've reissued this. Hoping they might do second runs of a few of the other limited releases - another pressing of Sunshine Daydream 4lp would be nice - that thing goes for way more than i can afford!

I preordered this from SoundStageDirect back in March, it still hasn’t shipped though. When I called they said they’re still waiting to receive theirs from the record company. I’m psyched they reissued this, can’t wait!

Does that usually happen with SoundStageDirect ? I never ordered from them but would think it would have been shipped on release day.

I’m not sure, I’ve never preordered from them before. I find it questionable that they’re still waiting on their allotment when everyone else seems to have received theirs, but whatever, not really much I can do but wait.

I saw a copy at Barnes and Noble for $113.99. Kinda steep. Was your price cheaper or around the same ? I thought the RSD Fillmore box was more reasonably priced at $76.99 but whatever.

They listed it at $120, I used a 25% off code to get it for $90.

I think these short term codes only go to those on their email list. I got it too. It expired yesterday. But they still have a standing 20% off code.
