You remind me of the 'head tripping on acid or something else at the exit of the Atlanta subway in 1989 yelling "Scalpers are ripping the 'heads off! Scalpers are ripping the 'heads off!" We went to street level and 15 minutes later we had bought two tickets to the Omni show for face. I was thinking, "Wow, if that yelling guy spent less time underground yelling and more time at street level looking for tickets, maybe he'd be better off." :D

I have noticed that last year's Dave's Picks volumes usually sell for < $40 on the 'bay. So there is still a profit to be made for flippers, but not a large one.

It's mostly the 2012 volumes (and some of the 2013's) that seem to go for big bucks (often >$100 each!!)

In other words, the flippers looking for a big score maybe aren't bothering now. Plus, with the increase to 16,500....

Still available! The increase to 16,500 is working. Good news to Dead fans, not so good for scalpers. :)

Hell, you're some lucky guy. I live in Argentina, and mine might never get to my door, each time I place an order, it's like making a bet, I know it's money I can lose, and a Dave's Picks I might never have :(

Stinks so bad, you can't even imagine! That's why I don't subscribe anymore, because I'm afraid of paying beforehand for something I ain't gonna receive. It's not a problem of the postal service, it's... mmmm, let's say fascist customs policies.

Shipping notice for my subscription copy just arrived.

That means about 5 business days, if it doesn't get accidentally routed to the Northeast. Boom, baby!

A few weeks ago someone on the bay sold an unsealed Dave's Picks 2 for $180.

On the way out of a glorious show at the Nassau Coliseum back in the day, my friend regaled the crowd outside with cries of "trade tonight for tomorrow!" Nobody was scrambled enough to take him up on the offer, however.

had a pair of extras for msg one night and "traded" them. they were bogus and we didnt get in. should have gone through the line with one of the old time ticket takers! lots of scuzzy "fans" in the later years. luckily a friends band was doing a gig at columbia that night.
