Perhaps 2019 will be devoted to celebrating the 40th anniversary of Brent's arrival.

    I’d love some 79.

The boxset containing both 73 and 74 certainly makes anything possible with the rest of this years Daves Picks.

    I’m guessing 76 and 79

It’s my understanding that 4/22/79 is a Betty, so that could be a good choice.

We are getting 1976 at some point with the returned Bettys. I could see one of the unreleased October ‘76 shows being a Dave’s Pick this year.

I could see a ‘69-70 show, but I don’t think there is any obvious choice and I think TPTB have mined what they want to for right now.

I’d like to see an 80s/90s show, but I’ll believe it when I see it.

    My prediction:

    Dave’s 27: 10/15/76
    Dave’s 28: 4/22/79

10-15-76 I REALLY want at some point...4-22-79 would be great as well.

If the missing part of the '76 show is back I'd be delighted with those two selections.

    God - I hope it's not anything from the 80s or 90s...

This sounds right to me unless one of these could be a 69 show - maybe it’s time for another late 69 Bear 2-Track!!!

I just don't get this thinking.....slagging off TWO DECADES of great shows, not to mention some very worthy late-career original songs that simply aren't represented by the constant fixation with the mid-70's.

I'm really hoping the Pacific Northwest set sates the need for anything from '70-'78, and we get some 60s, 80s, or 90's. Or all three.

Vote me off the island if you must, but I would be all in on an 82-85 show.

I suppose the next deluxe album reissues will have a live show to go along with them. So we might get some late '69 show with Aoxomoxoa and a couple of '70 shows for WD and AB. They might be saving some otherwise good picks for these, and so the next few DaP could be from some other lesser appreciated years. I wouldn't mind an 80s or 90s show, if they are spectacular. I really enjoyed DaP 20.

No only about 100 of them from 85-95.

I must just have bad luck...

If they continue with the 2-cd format, they'll have to choose short concerts. Both mixes of Aoxomoxoa fit in one cd, but getting a whole '69 show in a single cd is not that easy. I would be perfectly alright with selected excerpts, anyway.
In the case of Aoxomoxoa I would like to have studio outtakes, anyway, if the tapes still exist.

You must have hit the wrong ones, or started going in 1992..."neither of the above" is impossible.

EDIT: OK, I saw your next post....the impossible has happened!

I think these releases will be the perfect opportunity to release shows that are only partial or have cuts/mix/guest issues that make a full release impossible.

If they could find a way to make the cassette masters sound nearly as good as the reel to reel tapes of the 70’s I’m sure they would have released some of the peak 82-85 shows.

There are a few out there, in the Dick's series and the 30 Trips porch crusher. They sound, um, weak.

I’ve had a hard time with Dick’s 6 & 13 due in part to the sound.

DaP 27 speculation? 4-22-79 please! '79 is woefully under-represented. A very tasty looking Set II & encores. Apparently the live debut of Mickey's "The Beast" too.

I wish Dick’s 6 & 13 maybe sounded better, but those are two I wind up playing a lot more often than several others primarily because there is so much less (official) material available from these years. Maybe a matrix is the only way to go to wring the best experience possible out of these tapes. Who knows. I'd rather a bit or variety on the years covered by the releases even if it means having to tolerate sub-optimal sound as compared to the shows taped to reels.

Well if they can find the resources to release a 19cd box, I'm sure they could up the disc count on the deluxe albums. What Deadhead doesn't want more? Or else, put out a 69 live box next year.
