Before or after hearing it? Wasn't sure myself after almost two complete streams, but bluej had me convinced to buy today...

I'm really loving ABC, likely the most consistent Pollard since Let It Beard, to my ears anyway. Glad to see the other guys getting some shine here, surprised how well Bare's songs fit into the album.

Drunkest I ever saw him was at Spaceland in Silverlake. The place had a stage about 2 feet tall and he had a hell of time staying on it. Sorry I love GBV but the drunk shows are not my idea of entertainment.

From what I understand, Bob's been on the right side of ****faced since the Asbury Park incident.

Good I hope so. I'm seeing GBV at the Roxy next week. Hoping for a great show. This is about the fifth time I've thought this was my last GBV show.

If you haven't seen this new line-up yet, you're in for a treat! I saw them at back to back shows in Philly and Brooklyn over NYE weekend and it was really tremendous. Maybe the best line-up I've seen.

After a few listens, ABC sounds like a good, not great, single album with a ton of filler. Bob's vocals on quite a few tracks are cringe -worthy, I mean so off key I just end up skipping the track. I noticed this on the ESP Ohio disc as well, really horrible vocals on quite a few of the tracks. What the hell? I used to consider Pollard to be one of the great rock vocalists, now it seems like he doesn't even care enough about his own songs to even sing them properly.

Unfortunately, Bob doesn't do much more than one vocal take per song. I guess that's one of the ways he's able to pump out so many releases at such an insane rate.

FaCE is the album where the lazy vocal takes really bugged me. For an album that had a fair amount of hype behind it, I felt like he really could have put a bit more effort into it.

I'm no so sure he's losing fans, or that it's because of his lazy studio practices. Most of the fanbase still worships the lowest of the lo-fi releases.

Also not sure how you can be disappointed in an album that you can't be bothered with.

A good read, and sounds like there's nice camaraderie in the band right now. I'm going to crack the seal on ABC tonight...

The August LP sounds like its another ESP Ohio, though I'm not sure that's a meaningful distinction from the current GBV.

I don't love it as much as the lead singles from the last two albums (yes, including Please Be Honest) but it's pretty solid, and shows GBV can always do a good "normal" rock song.
