Album wise, I officially like this new version of GBV better than the reunion. Thought the reunion albums were GBV's weakest period.

This new one sounds like a gem though I've only heard it twice it's a grower.

    What a great cover.

I think Doug Gillard is the key to this band's sound. He's a true professional though I know that's a bad word to some GBV fans. Loved him in the middle period and I love what he's doing now.

I need to check this out.

Does the vinyl come with a download? MP3 or WAV/FLAC...?

And yes, this album is real good. I also think it's the best sounding GBV album since Half Smiles.

Fantastic album. The next GbV album, Space Gun, is finished but isn't due to be released till March 2018. Hopefully we'll get lots of good stuff before then.

I'm hoping the early 2000's matador albums get reissued soon. I just need Universal Truths..

Wow. I think this is the best GBV album since the reunion. The songwriting is so focused, and it sounds great.

Hot damn! (and thanks for the heads up, Frank)

I'm behind on my GBV listening. Still working my way through August By Cake.

I need to get with the rock program.

I've never bought a GBV reissues. What do they have to offer? The Not in My Airforce reisssue didn't have any bonus material.

I don't think much. Didn't the Airforce reissuehave a bonus 7"? My main reason for wanting the reissues is I want to get a copy of Universal Truths and Cycles that isn't 80 dollars.

Also I hope Waved Out gets a reissue soon.

Nice thing about being a GbV fan is that with 100+ albums, nobody has to agree on their favorites (or least favorites). I put the reunion albums right there with the original classic lineup ones (except for Cool Planet). :edthumbs:

Haven't heard this new one, although I did like Cake and Honest a lot.

In some cases, possibly better pressings. Matador vinyl had some quality control issues in the mid-2000s, so reissues might offer a good upgrade.

For most people though, simply having them back in print is a good thing. I can't believe it took as long as it did to get a vinyl reissue of Bee Thousand.

The 7" is the just last few songs from the original album on a separate EP as Bob originally wanted it. No actual bonus material to my knowledge.

So we have to settle for the 1500 or so GBV songs that are out there? We are unfairly burdened by Bob.

I was just musing about Bob's unbelievable output, not criticizing your post. The idea of "bonus material" is pretty comical for someone who releases so much.

How Do You Spell Heaven is a monumentally immense album!

Fantabulous tracks that add up to mucho muscular rawk happiness for the engaged listener.

Along with August By Cake, this one's certainly the best.....until Space Gun comes along in a few months. :)

    Now for something rather divergent:

I just want to take this crystalline silent moment to wish 'Happy Birthday' to Robert Pollard.

    He's 60 years young today.

And his undeniable youth is worn defiantly on his sleeve. :righton:

Thank you, Bob, for showing us how it's done.

    Keep it in motion.
