I wonder what is the record for the oldest legitimate performer to still do concerts? I can think of a few comedians, George Burns into his 90s, and Don Rickles is 87 and still routinely tours. But a musician, can anyone think of one older than B.B.?

I think it'd be Les Paul, although BB is catching up.

for a man his size to be doing so well is truly amazing...both he and Fats Domino give hope to the large everywhere! :)

    Good for him.
I've mentioned it in a different thread but...I saw B.B. in 1969 when I was very young. I remember thinking, this is great, getting to see this old timer playing out the string before he passes on.
Now I realize that he was, um...44 years old.:o

It's great to see blues guys like B.B. and Buddy Guy live long enough to make some money and have a good time after the early years struggling to make a living.

I know Pinetop Perkins was playing and recording at 97. Won a grammy for his last album.

Who is the oldest living musician still performing?

Pete Seeger at 90 years and 9 months old is the oldest living musician.
Number two is Ravi Shankar at 89 years 10 months old. Have a great day!

For a man with hypertension and diabetes for many years, who was 70+ before he dropped some weight.....it's remarkable, really.

    Happy Birthday BB!
