In honor of the Birthday of Stan Laurel, here’s a very rare TV special tribute.

One of the funniest men ever, the Laurel and Hardy shorts have stood the test of time and are still hilarious!

Stan sneakily eating a waxed apple, realising it's wax, then deciding he quite likes it anyway - no dialogue, just the most brilliant comic acting. The man was a genius.

Happy Birthday, Stan, and thank you for all the laughs with Ollie. You were/are one of the all-time greats.

I can't believe you actually posted that clip. Not only is it one of the most hilarious things they ever did, but it may
be one of the funniest things ever captured on film. Not only is Stan's laughing for real, but Hardy (if you watch
close) is cracking up for real.
Some months ago, I was watching this film on Dish, but when I saw this section (starting at about the
8:00 minute mark) I rewound the DVR to the beginning and then recorded it. And I watch it whenever
    I really need a laugh...…….

Even before pairing with Ollie he was a real star and a stand out, and then together from silent to talkie they were the very best, so rare for anyone to be equally as brilliant in both. I thought Buster Keaton was also great in sound but audiences didn't seem to agree, but the fans of Laurel & Hardy grew by 'legions' straight through. It's the subtle gestures and expressions revealing of humanity.

One of my favourite scenes is the prison schoolroom in Pardon Us.

    Finlayson: What's a comet?
Prisoner: A star with a tail.
    Finlayson: Name one.
    Stan: Rin Tin Tin.

And always remember the old adage: “you can lead a horse to water, but a pencil must be lead.”
