For americans, you'll be saying "Who?" but in The UK in the 90's, This man was very big. He started out as one of those "alternative" comedians on Channel 4, but when he switched to BBC1 to do his own show, he began to make one of the best sketch comedy shows ever, very much in vain of the old Dick Emery and Benny Hill shows. His first 2 series in 1990 and 1992 were titled "Harry Enfield's Television Programme" and twelve episodes were made in total (6 for each series) In 1993, instead of a Series, a special was made to farewell their DJ characters "Smashie & Nicey". This is an extremely funny special, and had spoofs of Blue Peter, The Beatles, Freddie & The Dreamers, Top of the Pops, and heaps of stuff. 1994 saw a new series, titled "Harry Enfield & Chums" this is the series of 6 episodes which seems to be repeated in new zealand, and has the classic sketch in which Enfield takes the piss out of Ben Elton for damaging Benny Hill's career. A second series of "Harry Enfield & Chums" followed in 1998. Some classic sketches: Women, Know Your Limits! (old film type parody) Son's Boyfriend Considerably richer than you Oi! Wales! No! Yoko Ono oh no Ono no! Methods of Self-Defence This show really needs a DVD release.
