She is popular and successful by any definition. I'm not so sure about legendary. I would call her legendary if her songs were being covered by numerous other groups the way Bob Dylan's songs were being done by so many groups in the 60s.

I could respond if I had a clue what you mean by "legendary" but ............. I don't.
Now if "legendary" means all that stuff you listed in your initial post, then...... well then you've answered your own question and the answer is yes.
But if "legendary" doesn't mean all that stuff, then what do you mean? Just asking.

you may want to check YouTube

I'm by no means a fan of her but there's no denying her visibility at the moment

  14. I don't think Taylor has, but I do think Pink has.

In a world where we redefine the meaning of words daily, sure, TS, legendary, why not...

By that same token, Mel Tillis is the godfather of soul and Engelbert Humperdinck plays better bass than Geddy Lee.

JQuest - do you think she has?
Because if not, I am wondering what exactly the intent is here since there aren't any other threads proclaiming that she is legendary.

How can I be the only yes vote? That's crazy. An independent woman single-handedly propping up the music industry for five years. Nothing like it since the Beatles.

The one (and probably most important) thing Swift has done is grow in popularity with each album. Her 5th album is her most successful yet. That's pretty unusual as many pop acts are over and done with by their fifth LP.

I don't like using the word 'legendary', but she probably will be. I'm sure not many would have said Madonna was a legend by her fifth album either, and she's done alright for herself!

It also has to be said that '1989' is a pretty great modern pop album.

@JohnnyQuest I don't want to make trouble for you, but I thought you didn't like Taylor Swift's music?
