My 32" TV in the living room had a pincushion distortion problem to be corrected, so with the design of my TV, the entire circuit board had to be replaced. Now, that created another problem which will be solved as soon as the service remote for the TV comes to my door. The color adjustments, grayscale adjustments, and everything else has to be adjusted because although the TV is watchable, the picture is too green and basic color adjustments will not do a thing. The Sears service technician will order for me the service remote which has all the functions the original TV remote has but with additional capabilities for service purposes. As a result, I do not need to go on remotes.com and order the stock remote. When the service guy tried to make the stock remote into a service remote, the original remote got killed, but with the service remote, all of the functions that I needed to use the original TV remote for will be usable again. Because I need the original OEM remote to use the built-in modulator for composite video sources and I can no longer use it, I have a separate RF modulator with the DVD player connected to it and still have the VCR hooked up like normal.
