Some how i have ignored The Doors since the Oliver Stone film came out. I have never listen or got any of the remasters of the remasters of the remixes and do not even try to talk to me about this crap monster out there with Ray and Robbie calling themselves the Doors of this centry or what ever. For some reason about a week ago I pulled out a copy of Morrison Hotel and decided I need some reading music. Hlaf way thru the first song I put the book down and just listened. I was completely lost in the music. I had forgotten how truly great this band could be!!!!!! Then it became one album after another. I count myself very lucky to have seen the band twice in my life time. I was a real fan but after all the hype starting with that Rolling Stone cover (Hes Hot, Hes Sexy, Hes Dead) I started to lose intrest plus the fact that back when I listened to radio, it seemed like all they played was Zep, Stones and The Doors, You never got the chance to take a breath!!!! This band is one of the all time top 5 greatest bands ever. For those of us who lived thru this, I remember loving the first 2 Lps and then Jim became a cover boy for 16 Magazine and seemed like they were a "teenybopper" band until Morrison Hotel and then they were back. I have changed my mind about those "middle" albums like Waiting For The Sun and Soft Parade. They are great. I am so glad I pulled out Morrison Hotel. Now I have tickets for Lou Reed next month....God i can see where this going..METAL MACHING MUSIC FOR A MONTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
