How about some Richard Thompson? I'm not sure if any of his music fits the "lost classics" criteria (at least as far as radio goes). But here are some suggestions. They are not necessarily the best songs. I just think they are some great ones that might go over well on the radio.

    Turning Of The Tide
    I Misunderstood
I Can't Wake Up To Save My Life
    Waltzing's For Dreamers
1952 Vincent Black Lightning (According to the liner notes to "Action Packed", this is the most requested song on National Public Radio)

    With Linda:
    Withered And Died (my favorite)
I Want To See The Bright Lights Tonight
    Wall Of Death
    Shoot Out The Lights

There are many more that I consider classics. Someone else might suggest different titles.

    Re: My Richard Thompson suggestions

"I Misunderstood", "I Can't Wake Up To Save My Life" and "1952 Vincent Black Lightning" were released in 1991 and fall outside of the 1967-1990 range. The others fit.

I was amazed once when I heard a station play Clapton's "Mainline Florida." I would also suggest the Band - anything - because I cannot recall ever hearing a song of theirs on the radio (my formative years were in the 80s). I was just talking with someone I work with about that the other day, how so great a group never gets airplay.
