    Hi Y'all.

I have a a very nice Philips 5R4GyS rectifier Tube for my preamp's power supply...'cept there is not enough space for the tube, it is on the larger side of the spectrum.

I need a 5 pin tube tester/extender..been searching high and low and I have found none..any one know where I can find one?

The tube may have only 5 pins but the socket that it plugs into has eight holes - but only 5 of the eight holes have connections to the wiring. This is not unusual. It's just a standard octal socket that can be used for tubes that have as many as eight pins - but frequently have fewer than eight pins. Hope this helps.

Thanks very much for your help. This explains why there are no 5 pin socket savers...

Very much appreciated now I can use this beautiful tube. Ordering now.
